She's a legend, she opened the world to wonen in comedy, she was unique, nobody will be like her, so sad.

FP must be canceled, it wont be the same.

Lol I'm not going to sit here and pretend like Joan was always a nice person when she was alive.

She made a name for herself with her brand of comedy (one which focused the target of the joke on others and was VERY often seen as vulgar, inappropriate, and mean).

That doesn't mean that I don't know what she stood for. When it comes down to it, I've always thought that even though her style of comedy may not be my cup of tea, she still promoted a message that I liked and could agree with, and that is learning to laugh about things and learning how to make others laugh, just so they can have a moment of happiness.

That does NOT mean that Joan didn't frequently achieve this goal at another person's expense.

Who is the ignorant one now, lol.

Actually, I have to agree with MJHoland here. She wasn't always the nicest lady. It just saddens me that the media and hollywood always feels like they have to portray someone as a Great and Legend, when she frequently made fun of others during her life.

This does not in any way mean that I don't feel sorry for her loved ones, and her fans that lost her.

Its just why do we always have to honor and love those who have passed? when the truth is in life, maybe they weren't that great?

I'm going to miss her sooo much :( I loved her commentaries on pop culture and no one has made me laugh as much as her :legend:

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

She was a true legend. She blazed the ****ing way for women in comedy and she will always be remembered as a true entertainer and philanthropist. She was also a HUGE supporter of LGBT rights and was an avid supporter of other causes as well.I am so upset by some of the hate I am seeing in this thread and on social media. Obviously people do not understand the scope of her impact.

So my friend made this comment on facebook. What do you guys think? "God works in the most mysterious ways. During the war on Gaza, Joan Rivers said "Palestinians deserved to die." As soon as a permenant ceasefire was agreed upon she stopped breathing. Now she is dead - just like the Palestinians who "deserved" it."

This is not the appropriate place and time to post this.
