That poor girl is going to be scarred for life. :(

Human beings lived without guns for thousands (or millions) of years. I don't think it's natural for us to be able to so easily kill each other.

I also think gun ownership changes your social interactions. If you know you have to survive in a city without a gun, it is going to make you much more interested in getting to know the people around you and communicating with them and making friends. I don't own a gun, so I make sure I travel in groups of friends!

I know several people who are gun enthusiasts, and they are happy to have few if any friends.

Coincidence? Maybe, but it's hard for me to imagine that walking around with the power to kill anyone at any moment isn't going to affect the way you deal with others negatively, and make you less interested in getting along with people you don't relate to.

Y'all should watch 'Bowling for Columbine'.. It's very interesting for both Americans and non-Americans...

Love that documentary. Michael Moore is literally amazing.

1. There are more guns in America than people; it doesn't matter what legislation you pass, you're never getting rid of them.

2. Anything can be dangerous when handled by people with poor judgement. Vehicles, for example.

3. The right to bear arms is as American as apple pie. It's a right that's designed as a check against oppressive government. If the government outlawed firearms, there would be rebellion. Rightfully so, in my opinion.

Two reasons why your society is actually sick.

The topic of 'guns' in America is so touchy for gun-enthusiasts.

And rightly so, when there are people wanting to restrict or destroy your rights, passios, hobbies or livelihood you tend to be more defensive.

I shot a little BB gun at a few cans and It still felt wrong.

:deadbanana:

I've already resigned myself to the fact if I'm ever faced with a gunman, I'm going to die and I've made peace with that. I will not pick up a gun.

Really? Even if there was one laying in front of you?  :toofunny: how 'bout a baseball bat?

Two reasons why your society is actually sick.

And they think your society is sick right back. :MANiCURE:

That's my point - we are all NOT.  No one likes to feel like captive in their own society.

Well, our old constitution has influenced the lives of millions, other constitutions, etc. :wtf: Don't disgrace such an amazing document with one bad Amendment :wtf:

Is it bad that I don't feel bad for him at all? He clearly had a lack of common sense giving a 9 year old an Uzi. :awkney:
