Who is bashing the UK? I think we can all agree it's a good country.

Completely off topic. You people make it so hard for me to keep my promise of not posting in this thread anymore.

This thread was made trying to refer to the UK as a poor country, and mocking it to try and make USA look better, when it's not like there's much noticeable difference of day to day life between UK and USA because of what this article talks about.

If I admit that I was stupid and wrong and ignorant will you leave my thread????

You're not being stupid, you're just trying to defend an article that's wrong and ignorant which that was written by someone who is very biased.

I just want to clarify, I'm not trying to make you feel that way at all, it's just the article isn't taking some important factors regarding the UK into account which would greatly change it's apparent positioning.

Where is the mocking? All I see are numbers being compared. There is like one sentence in the article that is unnecessary, but besides that all I see is numbers. The mocking and bashing IS, however, coming from people in this thread bashing other countries.

Well then, not all of it is numbers :spin: The title isn't a number, it's a wild generalisation that has negative connotations

does Turkey count as Europe? that always confuses me.

I feel like if u wanna make a nationalistic thread, quality of life measurements would be better than G.D.P.

Europe would completely destroy the U.S with countries like Sweden and Switzerland etc...

Well Turkey is both. Turkish culture is linked very close to European culture

idec the OP and many others in this thread are being so nationalistic, it's ridiculous because we as 16 - 25 year olds on an internet forum do absolutely nothing to contribute to the economic power of the place we were born :smh:

The title is simply a fact taken from the article

It's up to the individual to accept it or not. That doesn't mean start bashing other countries though.

Well. The thread title can be already considered as bashing.

How? Is "poor" a harsh word?

If I say "Africa is poor" am I bashing Africa?

Again, the title is taken FROM the article.
