Morphine Prince 109,766
Obviously a little friendly shade, put your gun down, sir. Can't accept friendly shade anymore because my country is hated by so many people without them ever setting a foot here.
Saint Laurent 4,862
But if Americans are patriotic they are stuck up, huh? If a thread is made by a biased American trying to shade a country far superior, in my opinion, to the USA then naturally, people who are from that country will defend it. If the point of the thread wasn't to cause a USA vs. UK argument, then pray tell, what was the point of it? Simple fact of the matter is: the UK is better than the USA. But Britain is not even that rich. If you look at its GDP on a Per Capita basis im not even sure it cracks the top 20 and if it does its close to the bottom And the US in proportional terms (wealth per citizen) is not the richest but i believe its in the low top 10s/ high top 20s according to most rankings It does have a bigger income gap than most developed Countries tho so i dont know if the average middle class person is necessairily better in the States than in many other Developed Nations It's not about money. Morphine Prince 109,766
Why's that my friend? A lot of people on this forum think any form of "American pride" is arrogance.
Luc 4,776
The UK is a better place to live in, according to the reputable HDI: The US is #29 best country to live in, while the UK is #16. The top 5 consists out of Norway, Australia, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany. Well in UK people don't have the right to carry guns And that, also, makes the UK a better place to live. Morphine Prince 109,766
This thread is about the ECONOMY, not social and/or political values of a country. Even the economy can't pinpoint the experience of living somewhere either. This was an interesting comparison imo. Have fun in here, guys. No longer posting in here because it's not worth my time. Luc 4,776
A lot of people on this forum think any form of "American pride" is arrogance. Because a lot of people from the US act that way. If you provide facts as to why the US isn't the best place in the world, they'll say 'then why do people from all over the world come to our universities?!!', 'but we have freedom, you don't!', 'you're just jealous because we have ... and you don't!', or other things alike. MJHolland 12,725
And relating to OP: I live in Texas and we are legally allowed to secede. We could be our own nation also because our economy is so good. In fact, we were our own nation for 9 years after Texas was no longer part of Mexico and after those 9 years it was annexed to the US. No, no you are not! How good or bad a country is has **** all to do with money, if you want money, it's easily attainable all you have to do is work. It's quite clear that the UK is the better place to live, frankly, it ****s all over the USA. In my opinion, the USA lacks character and history, the houses are ugly, the laws are unintelligible, the education is bizzare and it just generally would be **** to live their compared to the UK lol Isn't the article this thread is based on about UK vs US from a biased american though? Hm no, the article only points out cold hard numbers Truthfully, this post wasn't supposed to be an attack thread on the UK or to say which country was better. It was just a comparison of the US economy my state to other countries, which I found shocking and very interesting. Y'all are the one that turned it into a country vs. country debate lol... This thread is about the ECONOMY, not social and/or political values of a country. Even the economy can't pinpoint the experience of living somewhere either. This was an interesting comparison imo. This article was just an interesting comparison between European economies to the US by state. And then you come in here a post which country is a better place to live. And then you come is here and call Americans ARROGANT?!?!??! BRBR I'M LAUGHING MY ASS OFF

And btw, the US has the 4th best median income of any country. So keep talking about income gaps, please *eye roll* The article was also not just about Britain btw. It just happened to be the poorest so it was made into the headline.

BRBR I'M LAUGHING MY ASS OFF I didn't say US citizens are arrogant, I said that their pride is not a posteriori (sorry, couldn't find a better word to describe it ). And the list has its flaws. Where are Qatar, Singapore, Luxembourg, Monaco, Liechtenstein - five of the richest countries in the world? Oh - and another thing is the amount of time the average person works. Whereas the average working American works 1788 hours a year, the average Dane, German, Dutch and Norwegian all work ~1400 hours a year for more or less the same buying power. Dayman 6,251
Why are you all on the US hate wagon? Did America sleep with your sister and get her pregnant out of wedlock or something? Like really, fighting over what piece of land you live on in the world is better - first world problems I guess?
