It was a song that was going to be hard for the general radio listening demo to digest and PDs knew it, so they didn't give it a chance. PLUS, Interscope didn't do a good job of pushing it to radios (yes, that is their job!) as it never even made it to 10 million A.I.s. People don't buy third singles, if they don't hear them! The Tour is the work of Live Nation, as far as being a sponsor, scheduling, ticket distribution and pricing and promotion. Live Nation has a management arm- Artist Nation, and that is the team that Gaga and Bobby signed on with in the middle of June. A global artist at Gaga's level needs a full global team with lots of resources around the world, and that is what she is getting with Artist Nation. Interscope is the record label. They are responsible for the music. They fund the albums, videos, promo for the music, and put the pressure on radio stations to play the music. They also provide A&R people for selection of songs, collabs, etc. and help set up different radio opportunities for promo. Got it! The thing is G.U.Y. isn't that bad, it could've been the best song on the album. It's just the bad promotion that lead to the flop not the music, the music is very good in many's opinions. Nothing too extreme considering the fact she is on tour and can't be around Tony constantly. However, I have saw a few advertisements on different blog site, web articles discussing music and entertainment, and ads on YouTube as well. Give him a break. He just started. They didn't have Live Nation behind them when the G.U.Y video was released so there wasn't tons of promo, but we saw how good that video was and I doubt she could have done something like that with Troy around, so... I remember Bill Werde at the time saying that if he was Gaga's manager he'd tell her to cancel everything to do with the remainder of the era (and I have a feeling that probably would've been any other managers advice) but I'm SO glad we got the G.U.Y. video.
