Miley allowed a homeless LA teen who had been living in shelter to accept her award for her as well as raise awareness for over the 50,000+ homeless children living in the LA area alone, while she pointed to the stark contrast of the 70bil+ that the music industry will earn yet not offer any aid to these children. He then redirected them to her Facebook page, where they could check out a campaign to help these children in need of a home/place to stay. I was on live-stream and couldn't hear Basically a speech about homelessness and poverty and how he was one of those people who worked behind the scenes scraping by, but ultimately helped with the success of the stars in that room.
