The Fame & ARTPOP are just fun pop/dance albums.

TFM & BTW are both very dark albums.

  Clearly there are numerous ways to answer.

How does ARTPOP sound anything like The Fame?

I think they are thematically very similar. Both albums are filled with songs about fame, s-x, money, fashion etc

The Fame Monster and Born This Way.

ARTPOP is a mix of The Fame (Donatella, Fashion!, MANiCURE, Jewels N' Drugs, Applause) and Born This Way (Aura, Venus, Mary Jane Holland) with a small The Fame Monster influence (Dope, Do What U Want, Sex Dreams).

The Fame and ARTPOP are her more "light" albums with fun songs like Just Dance, LoveGame and Summeryboy as well as Sexxx Dreams, Gypsy and Venus. The themes are not as mature as their counterparts, mainly focusing on s-x, d--gs and fame, but they both still have some mature, darker songs like Paparazzi and Dope. Just fun, light hearted pop music.

TFM and BTW are also connected in that their universal themes of the destructive nature of fame and self acceptance give them much more depth and substance than TF/AP. They are both dark albums.

there's no such thing imo. I was gonna say TF and TFM but they're also (very) different from each other
