Yeah ARTPOP flopped so hard... Nobody dragged her 'cause of her overall success but 'cause of the success of ARTPOP compared to her previous work. IMO people just bash on it because it flopped so bad. But I love every second of ARTPOP just the way it is. It's my favorite album. :3 IT. DIDN'T. She made A JOKE about it at SXSW saying she "had" to perform if...but she cleared that up during the keynote speech. Why do people have this idea Gaga doesn't like Applause or didn't want it on the album? She tweeted the lyrics to it during the BTWB and everything. She seemed so happy and excited about it when it came out too...and she would be an idiot not to like it because it's one of her catchiest and most infective songs. SHE NEVER WANTED IT AS A LEAD SINGLE she wanted best song on ARTPOP a.k.a aura to be a lead but because they said no she then wanted s-xxx dreams but her manager made her choose APPLAUSE #ITISKNOWN Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

When Applause came out everyone said it was her best song ever, after few months of listening and after the hype was gone they said it was good but not even close to her best work. She chose songs for her manager to hear and Applause wasn't even on the list, but her manager wanted to hear more and ended up listening to every song she wrote/recorded. She explained how Applause eventually became a single iwth this story: "He said: 'Every song I'm hearing is better than the last one, so the last song should be the single!' so that's how we ended up choosing it." I for one don't believe that, since I find it very unlikely that Gaga's list went from best to worst in the eyes of her manager Nobody is making that up, she said it at least three times in August 2013. Remember that Applause was the absolute last song she wanted on the album. Her manager might have changed her vision, musically. Whatever, it's still a great album but I wonder if that statement is still accurate. That's what I'm thinking.
