kurtz 52
Lego, You're going to have to do better. Try to answer the questions instead of leaving and posting an hour-long video that no one will watch. Israel handed the entire territory of Gaza over to the Palestinians years ago. And what has Hamas accomplished since it gained power there? Israel has entered negotiations for the creation of a Palestinian state. Hamas denies that Israel has a right to exist and teaches children to hate Israel and Jews. Israel agreed to a cease fire proposal several days ago. Hamas refused.
LaXian 25
I don't agree with this ... Who says the fans agree with what's going on in their country? ... Because at the end of the day it's the fans that will suffer ... Gaga doesn't have anything to do with the politics and canceling the show won't change anything ... Arturo 40,746
I completely disagree. There are enough people at that concert who don't share the same opinion as the Israelian government. It's unfair for the fans there to cancel the concert. but I hope she'll sing 'free palestine' instead of 'free my mind' during ARTPOP and give a few speeches about the conflict like she did in Russia. It should only be cancelled if there's potential danger for Gaga and her fans there, e.g. terrorist attacks. All of this.

mvgp 112
What Israel is doing is horrible. But to cancel the show would be a huge hypocrisy. Tell me who canceled any US show in 2003 during the ivasion of Iraq! Nobody! I mean the more I want her to cancel the show, it would be be unfair and hypocritical, we need to watch our own tail before criticize others'
Hybrid 13
80% killed were civilians. You would think with all those modern weapons they would be more precise and these things wouldn't happen: WARNING: graphic image http://static01.nyt.com/images/2014/07/17/world/07GAZA-1/07GAZA-1-master675.jpg How heartless can you be... Heartless? when did I say that I support killing civilians? Personally, I don't understand what happened at that beach and why were those children killed, and I don't support it. BUT, when ammunition is kept at those civilans's backyards/houses, it's not Israel's fault (they are also given warning to exit their house earlier before it is bombed). Just two days ago, ammunition was found at a school. Two soldiers helped an elderly man in Gaza and he threw grenades at them. How can you blame only Israel for those things? the Hamas just uses people to defend their bombs  I don't think your opinion is based on reliable sources. kurtz 52
If Hamas had agreed to the cease fire proposal days earlier, those children would not have died. The Israeli-Palestinian issue is a deeply complex one and I certainly don't believe Israel is blameless in the failure to find a peaceful outcome. However, to jump on the "free Palestine" bandwagon ignores the deeply complicated nature of what's happening there. I see that Rihanna tweeted a "Free Palestine" statement and then immediately took it down and insisted she did not intend to post it. It resulted in a lot of angry responses. If Gaga were to announce a cancellation of her show in Tel Aviv, she would be immersing herself into a very complicated problem and also serving the interests of Hamas propaganda. Sometimes artists should make political statements, but sometimes they have to rise above politics. Political issues come and go but art is timeless. Gaga can perform there and make it clear she is not endorsing any political agenda, that she opposes violence as a solution to any political problem. monsterdreams 1,529
If it is cancelled I feel bad for the fans but the conflict has nothing to do with the concert Haters gonna need more than a flashlight for my shade
Reno 79
I would say if the government wants Gaga to come than she shouldn't come, this way she would make a statement. If the government doesn't want her to come than she should come (if it's safe of course) and maybe say something during the show, this way she would make a statement If the government doesn't care if she comes or not, than it's no difference, but i think she should come for the fans. Poker 3,682
She should cancel the show. I see no point in having a show in a country that's in war. Kindness rules all.
kurtz 52
A few years ago, Lady Gaga was scheduled to do a concert here in Phoenix, Arizona. The state government had just passed a law that was very hostile to illegal immigrants and also threatened to infringe on the rights of Latino Americans and other minorities (including my wife who is Asian-American.) A lot of people in Arizona, myself included, were very upset about this law. Some activists called for Gaga to cancel her Phoenix show as a protest. It was clear that most people who had tickets for the show were against the law, so canceling might have made a brief statement, gotten a headline for a day, but it would have hurt the feelings of thousands of loyal fans. Gaga went ahead with the show, but during the concert she spoke about the law and told everyone she was totally against it (and there were a lot of cheers). She wrote "No SB 1070" on one arm. She did a great concert and made it clear to anyone who cared what she thought of the controversy. I think she handled it really well. What if she did her show in Tel Aviv and made a statement by having Israeli and Palestinian youth come on stage with her and join hands? That would make a much greater impact than just not showing up.

The Israeli government has some bigger issues than if Gaga comes to perform there or not. They have nothing against her, it's not like Russia which was against gay rights for the first place so it didn't support the show.
Carsonu25 247
I think she should 100% still perform. She would be giving an escape to all those people, even if it's only a couple hours, having that unity, love, and respect could give those people a gift. And it's not like she's performing for a dictator or something like some "other" artists...
