Germany wanted to reclaim the historically German people of the surrounding countries, so they went out to do that, which led to WWII. That's what we were taught. Russia said they want to reclaim the historically Slavic people in Ukraine (if I remember correctly). I was saying how it reminded me of something that added to WWII. I have nothing against Germany. Not at all. If that's why you were upset I apologize. Ugh! If this MESS is what you have been teached in school, I feel really sorry for you. It's kinda true, I guess he didn't memorize it very well. He means that Hitler wanted to make sure the Germans in Czechoslovakia were safe, so he stole the land where mostly Germans lived. This didn't directly lead to WWII. Germany promised not to do it again, and was surprised that the Allies didn't already start a war for that. They thought they could also invade Poland, but when they did that, WWII started. Protecting the German citizens in the other country was the supposed reason they invaded Czechoslovakia, and is the same excuse Russia is using for the Ukraine situation. That's why he's comparing the two. No need to get so mad about it, although I understand that you get mad a little bit faster about these things, because you're German yourself and you don't want misconceptions and such. The fact that almost 300 beautiful, breathing people and their most likely vibrant futures have been stolen from them will probably the last thing on certain politicians/humans minds right now, however. So many close to this issue in both Russian and Ukraine will see this as an wonderful opportunity to push their agenda, regardless of who actually shot down that plane.
