Plus, it takes less than 2 weeks to kill you with highly aggressive and deadly symptoms including brain damage and internal bleeding! Yea, 2 weeks (plus around 20 days of no sympstom from the time being infected) are wayyyyy too long though, if only people die with in a few days (or instantly would have been better) of contracting the disease it would be easier to prevent and stop. :/ this is from a scientific view point ofcourse Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Plus the fact that the countries with numerous infections are basically using easily answered questions like "have you had contact with anyone who may have been infected" before letting them bored a plane rather than blood tests is beyond me. THIS!! Can we at least check these people's temperature before letting them back in? we already get practically naked with the security before flying anywhere. whats wrong with a quick temp check? Im not even opposed to tests. If you're coming to the United States from a region that is in the middle of an epidemic we should at least be testing ALL people boarding planes from that region.... I understand that journalists or medical workers need to get back to America at some point, and as crazy as this seems, I feel like all people returning to America from infected areas should be placed on court-ordered house isolation for the incubation period, even if they don't show symptoms at first. That's the issue here, isn't it? People get back and go on about there lives only to eventually find out they've had ebola the entire time? I agree- people have cried wolf so many times though i understand the lack of seriousness being taken by the user you quoted, but this is a very real threat to national security and frankly the entire population of the country. I don't really care as much about ebola getting into the US, or my country the UK, as we have the medical resources to deal with it pretty efficiently. I care about the people who are stuck in west Africa (who had no choice about being born there), with very few medical centres, limited resources and deaths happening as I type. Wendell Watson of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital says Thomas Eric Duncan died Wednesday morning. Duncan arrived in Dallas Sept. 20 from Liberia and fell ill a few days later. He was sent home after an initial visit to the emergency room, but taken back to the hospital Sept. 28 and has been kept in isolation ever since. Others in Dallas could be in danger as officials try to contain the virus that has ravaged West Africa, killing thousands of people.
