It would be cool if Cary Nokey opened some Gaga dates.

I just read this quote.

I was not sure whether it would be the right move to have put this in the article when I released it, but the response has been so positive that I feel safer putting it out now.

I DID ask 8-Bit about that , and his reply was very positive.

In a dream world, you know what I would love to see? I would love to see a double-header. I would love to see Cary Nokey and Lady Gaga on the same bill.

Oh my god. That would change everything. That would say -- anything can happen. That would say to people ANYTHING can happen. It's never over, 'till it's over. That's what we all want! Don't we all want that?... We don't want to give up.... You don't want to give up on anything.

Thank YOU so much. God, everyone in this thread has been so supportive for the most part. I can't wait for 8-Bit himself to see some of the great things you guys have said!

It would be so awesome if Gaga could see it, too...!

I really personally thank everyone in this thread who took 20 minutes out of their day to learn something new about Gaga and music history.

The fact this was 5 years to the day that Paparazzi was released.... I swear to God I didn't know that when I wrote this today! I just posted it today because I had a day I wasn't working, a free day off where I could do nothing but type.  This was really meant to be... I can't help thinking some higher power led me to posting it today on Paparazzi's anniversary.... what a TRIP.

Someone mentioned a Psychic had told Gaga she would reunite with an old friend. Maybe this is it, maybe not. But it's great to dream!

The interview is so incredible!! You really did an amazing job. I love how you did it, not just Gaga talk... and everything seems so natural, like 2 friends talking.

About him... I'm not gonna jump on his train just because of this. No need to repeat what others have already said here so that's it.

OMG Chica it's so proffesional and the questions are very on point! Well done. :applause:

As I was expecting, they still have respect for each other. (Gaga and Fusari)

I LOVED this interview.

Now I'm going back and listening to my unreleased Gaga collection. It's something I only do a few times a year - but it's always magical.

Omg yasss!!

This was such a nice interview! The energy between the interviewer and Rob was genuine, even in just words for him. I think it must've been great to have such good feelings in the room -- to know that he was being interviewed by a fan who gets the process.

Oh well and Brown Eyes are one of my favourite Gaga tracks :excited2: Some of the first songs that got me into her by the way.

In some way I changed my mind about him after reading his responses, I loved these parts of the interview where he talks about focusing on the music instead of the drama and negativity & his early experiences with listening records as a kid (that's something we have in similar).

ps: I had read about Rob's meeting with Gaga from a non-official biography book but wasn't sure which parts of what was written were real. Now I see the whole Wendy Starland thing seems to be true

And last but not least thank you for this interview Chica! Great job !!

Thank you so much. I wish I had been in the room, we conducted the interview by phone, as I was in California and he was in New York.

Ah by phone :) Still!

It seemed like the kind of conversation you have in person -- very personal.

The elephant in the room is that Rob did sue Gaga, and then Gaga counter-sued Rob, and the case was settled.

From that, and everything else I've heard, I'm thinking their breakup was bad and complex. Given that Gaga's counter-suit claimed that Rob took advantage of her with the shady contracts, I can't help but think that Paper Gansta is about him. I also wonder if Swine is about him.

That of course is PURE speculation, but I just want to be clear that since we don't know what really went down, we don't know if this guy is an angel or devil or something between. Let's not assume he's the devil just because Gaga had a painful introduction to stardom, but let's also not paint him as an angel just because he was nice in an interview.

The fact that he apologized and said he'd do things differently IS very nice of him, and I appreciate that. :)

The truth may be that there was fault on both sides, and this was never meant to be a long-term thing anyway. Gaga changes producers frequently. The show must go on. The wheel in the sky keeps on turning. etc. :hehe:

-sorry if someone's quoted this already-

Paper Gangsta is about Def Jam and getting dropped, but I agree that there's links with Swine going off on the theme of being used. I don't think those two songs are specifically about Rob imo, but more about the industry, particularly before Gaga had 'made it'.

Swine is also about rape, whether metaphorically being used and abused without consent or being physically raped, it's difficult to know whether this could be pinned on Fusari

Personally, I think Paper Gangsta is more of a commentary on the people you meet when trying to make it in the music industry, and Swine is more about specific people during that period. My personal judgement is that it's not Fusari, but again, it's all just speculation.

This is an awesome interview. By the way, Paparazzi the single turns 5 today!

can we arrange an interview for Chica to do with Gaga please :emma:

Not to be rude or anything, but to be honest, I feel very confused about him (no offense). It's just... He sued Gaga for so much money and now he's nice (or at least acts that way) towards/about/on her - I can't really tell if he's sincere or if it's just "played" to polish his image, you know? That's just my view/opinion right now.

Anyway, just like Gaga constantly does, he seems to re-invent his own reflection over and over again, drastically:

Just like with Gaga, I'm always wondering if it's really the same person. :smh: But I find that fascinating! :)

To do this interview, I spent nearly 2 hours on the phone talking to him. The overall vibe was positive and sincere, at least to me. He could have been fooling me, but I doubt it. I chose not to release the recordings because it wouldn't have worked in a text article, so I typed it up the old fashioned way.

I think the reinvention of his image is essential for him to move on from the past and forge a new future for himself.

Like he said, what do you do after producing Lady Gaga? Nothing else has taste anymore after that. Everything seems boring. It was literally unreal, how massive her success was.
