When does anyone ever use VMAs to brag about their fave's accomplishments? The show (and its awards) are basically a joke at this point, and when Gaga attends she knows that. I mean, she definitely had the last laugh when she showed up in drag for the whole night. For that reason, I've always enjoyed when Gaga attends and makes a big show out of it...her not having a reason to attend is the only thing I'm slightly disappointed about. Most of these nominations are about trying to get certain artists to appear. There are a small amount of the categories that will actually consider the quality of the video or try to match the nominations up with the award.
