Admittedly, based off the video effect alone, Birthday did skyrocket higher than G.U.Y. did on iTunes, but it would have plummeted right back down and stayed low as G.U.Y. did had radio not pushed it so much. Β I understand why radio is so biased towards Katy - 75% of her singles with her as the lead artist have reached the Top 3 versus only 40% of Gaga's reaching the same plateau - but sometimes, the bias is truly unfair and illogical, and these video stats are arguably some proof of that. Plus, KP has always been a radio favourite which allows her to have this kind of perk (i.e. getting played heavily despite the low corresponding sales). Gaga, on the other hand, has yet to score a single with an audience impression peak of 150 million and upwards.Β Β Anyway, G.U.Y.'s run as a single has ended weeks ago (while Birthday is on its way there as well). It's nowhere to be found on iTunes top 1500 and Gaga seems to have already moved on anyway. This kind of discussions could have been relevant months ago. And the debate on why G.U.Y. failed on the charts in comparison to the singles of others has been discussed too many times.
