CHANTEL 2
"Palestine" is the name given by the Romans to this land. Palastinian demand for a country popped right after 1967 when Israel occupied The West Bank and The Gaza Strip from Jordan and Eygpt, respectively. They had no demands before. Open a book and educate yourself before you speak up. Your opinion doesn't because matter as of right now Israel won't be gone. The moment Palestinian leaders will accept it peace will be here in no time. Palestinians will never accept it because it is rightfully their land. They have been fighting to free it just like ANY other colony. My own country Lebanon fought to liberate itself from the French occupation and we got our independence in 1945, That's exactly what Palestine is doing right now except Israel only has this territory, which is why I want Israel to just 'fade' because it is on a land that should go to someone else, the palestinians
Dolev 867
They call Hamas terrorists because their government does. Their government calls Hamas terrorists to make the US government concerned so they'll give them extra money. The word 'terrorist' means a lot in the US. I'd honestly consider both governments (Hamas and the Israelian government) terroristic, although Israels terroristic attacks on the citizens of Gaza and Palestine have been far more successful. Palestine used to be a colony of the Brits. Before the second worldwar, there were always so-called 'zionists' who wanted to have a state for the Jews at the place where Palestine was, because it's their holy place (but at the same time it's the holy place for the Palestinians). Because after the second worldwar there was so much regret and sadness and empathy for the Jews, they 'gave' them a part of Palestine. Many Arabic countries (most) weren't happy with this at all, because they'd practically invaded a big part of Palestine. A few countries attacked Israel, which resulted in Israel getting a lot of help from the US army and using this war to play the victim and invade a large part of Palestine. With things like this, they've invaded almost all of Palestine and Gaza and pushed all the people to these now densily populated areas, with bad standards of living. Palestine and the Arabic world are still furious that Israel stole their land, and it looks like Israel is still trying to invade the last part of these countries left. How? Using exactly the same tactic: Playing the victim. Luckily for the Israeli citizens, they get a lot of help from the US government and they have a good economy. They have a good protection, too. When a rocket is fired at them, it does not hurt anybody and they could choose to ignore it. But sadly when they're hit with a rocket, they use the opportunity to fire 10 rockets at the citizens of Gaza and Palestine, and once again still playing the victim. I believe that invasion of a country is not a good thing, and that Palestine and Gaza should be protected from the terrorists that the Israeli government and a lot of their citizens are. More and more Europeans (and Americans) are starting to realize this, and hopefully the US will soon stop giving Israel so much help to invade Palestine and Gaza. "Few" Inaccuracies. Jerusalem is holy for Muslim, not only Palestinians. it was suggested by the UN that Jerusalem will be controlled by international forces so both people will be able to reach the city, while the whole area around Jerusalem will be controlled by the Palestinian state. Fair enough for them, isn't it? I guess not. Oh Jerusalem, so holy that they are firing rockets towards you these days. Hypocrisy at its best. Are you really asking Isreal to ignore missiles? as if it was only for the missiles, Hamas also kidnaps Israeli citizes and murders them, its soliders are digging tunnels into Israel in order to kill citizens and are executing terror attacks by sucide bombers once in a while. Tell me where on earth theres a country that would allowed such situation to happen.
Dolev 867
You should educate yourself imo. Media or the books you read never show the truth Thank you for very detailed comment, now I get it all! bye Palestinians will never accept it because it is rightfully their land. They have been fighting to free it just like ANY other colony. My own country Lebanon fought to liberate itself from the French occupation and we got our independence in 1945, That's exactly what Palestine is doing right now except Israel only has this territory, which is why I want Israel to just 'fade' because it is on a land that should go to someone else, the palestinians Tho I don't agree with you, lets say it was really their land and it was "stolen" . You really expect Israel to fade all of a sudden?

What Hamas, and any other person who supports it, are seeking for is a revenge -- the correct word that they all refuse to use. They just love to mention how inhuman the Jews were when they "took the Palestinians homes from them" and praise their side humanity, while they want to do the same to the Israeli people. Then they simply getting away from this using the excuse "the Jews did it first," which is totally contradicts themselves, or "the Israelis can stay there," which is just ignorance. Pandemiya 61
Balanced and objective journalism at its best. Hamas broke 2 ceasefire, 1 by Egyptian mediation (which even Mahmoud Abbas, prime minister of the Palestinian Authority, supported) and an humanitarian 1 asked by the UN. There is not a thing in the world that could justify it and I don't get how any of you expect Israel to sit and watch how its citizens are being attacked and how terrorist are digging thier way in tunnels into Israel in order to kill and kidnap Israeli citizens. Hypocrisy. Israel only respons when Israel is provoked. That's all. "Palestine" is the name given by the Romans to this land. elixt 34
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to continue operations in Gaza "as much as we need to" despite the casualties. He said the Israeli government felt "deep pain" over deaths of its soldiers, and that Hamas, not Israel was responsible for the escalation in Gaza. Looks like it isn't going to end any day soon :( My source is BBC News UK
shashylon 0
I completely disagree with the notion that Israel needs to fade away. All emotional ties aside, the two state solution is the only way out. However, in light of what's happening right now, it would be stupid to say that Israel isn't overdoing it in the name of self defence... Too many innocent Palestinians are dying. How on Earth could you expect them to cooperate when this happens to them and this is NOT jus the casualties of war. This is overkill! FYI, it's not just Hamas that's been highly undiplomatic about this. Benjamin Netanyahu has been avoiding talks with Abbas for ages now... The way Israel formed and the way Palestinians were ruthlessly killed was wrong but it's been 65 years now and you can't just erase Israel from the equation. Morphine Prince 109,683
Gaza City (CNN) -- Hamas claimed it captured an Israeli soldier Sunday on the deadliest day yet in the battle between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza. The solider was taken during an early morning operation, according to Abu Obeida, a spokesman for Hamas' military wing, al-Qassam Brigades. He provided the supposed soldier's name and ID."He is a prisoner, and if Zionists lie about the dead and wounded, then the fate of this soldier is their responsibility," the spokesman said. Gunfire and cheers erupted in Gaza in apparent celebration of the soldier's capture, according to CNN reporters on the ground. There was no immediate comment from Israel. The Israel Defense Forces said it was aware of the report and looking into it. "It's a game changer, immediately, because it's going to change what the Israelis are doing on the ground in that sector. They're going to be looking for him," said CNN military a--lyst Lt. Col. Rick Francona. "Overall, the Israeli strategy is not going to change. They're committed to this mission," he said. Though, in the future, Francona said, the Israelis are "going to have to make some sort of accommodation to get this guy back." In 2006, Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit was captured. He was released some five years later in exchange for more than a thousand Palestinian prisoners.
