Ronlop 6,882
Because you went on in this thread about how proud you are of your country because it is a Jewish one and seemed to imply that all Jews would eventually go there, like that's every sentiment and wish of a sane Jewish person Could've misunderstood possibly. Oh well I am proud of my country, yes! I am proud of it as a country that I personally feel safe in and all the Jewish people that live here feel safe in. There are some religious Jews that choose to not live here because they think it's not right because the messiah didn't arrive yet- It's a religious belief. But History has shown that the Jewish people were never safe in Exile unfortunately. I mean...We may be paranoid but I think it's understandable after losing 6 million Jews in the holocaust I am not fully proud with my government's decisions. And I certainly don't support the killing of innocent people. But I can understand Israel's attack on Gaza because I personally believe the Hamas is preventing the Palestinians and the Israelis from a better future. I believe the peace is close, there are just obstacles on the way right now. I remind you that the Hamas is the one that rejected the ceasefire, I remind you that the Hamas is continuously stating how they want to wipe all the Israelis to the sea. But hey, don't get me wrong! I don't support what the Israeli government does as well! In fact, I don't think there is a need to blame any side in the war I just want to strive for a better future considering the consequences for both of the sides. And yes, I will say it. I am an Israeli but I care deeply about the Palestinians too and I want them to be free and live right next to me. I don't want to move from here though, this is my home
Cupid 760
I thought I'd shed some light on how a terrorist organisation is operating when it comes to reporting news and interacting on social medias. NOTHING more. Hamas Interior Ministry To Social Media Activists: Always Call The Dead 'Innocent Civilians' "Anyone killed or martyred is to be called a civilian from Gaza or Palestine, before we talk about his status in jihad or his military rank. Don't forget to always add 'innocent civilian' or 'innocent citizen' in your description of those killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza. The guidelines are aimed at ensuring preservation of the line of Hamas and other Palestinian organizations; preventing the leaking of information that would be of military value to Israel; bolstering Hamas's propaganda efforts outside the Gaza Strip, in both the Arab world and the West; and preventing damage to Hamas's image. Hamas particularly seeks to cement the perceptions that its actions are a response to Israeli aggression and that all Gaza casualties are "innocent civilians," and to ensure that there is no evidence of rockets being fired from Gaza population centers. "Avoid publishing pictures of rockets fired into Israel from [Gaza] city centers. This [would] provide a pretext for attacking residential areas in the Gaza Strip. Do not publish or share photos or video clips showing rocket launching sites or the movement of resistance [forces] in Gaza. Additionally, the interior ministry prepared a series of suggestions specifically for Palestinian activists who speak to Westerners via social media. The ministry emphasizes that conversations with them should be conducted differently from conversations with other Arabs. It stated: - "When speaking to the West, you must use political, rational, and persuasive discourse, and avoid emotional discourse aimed at begging for sympathy. There are elements with a conscience in the world; you must maintain contact with them and activate them for the benefit of Palestine. Their role is to shame the occupation and expose its violations. - "Avoid entering into a political argument with a Westerner aimed at convincing him that the Holocaust is a lie and deceit; instead, equate it with Israel's crimes against Palestinian civilians. - "The narrative of life vs. the narrative of blood: [When speaking] to an Arab friend, start with the number of martyrs. [but when speaking] to a Western friend, start with the number of wounded and dead. Be sure to humanize the Palestinian suffering. Try to paint a picture of the suffering of the civilians in Gaza and the West Bank during the occupation's operations and its bombings of cities and villages. - "Do not publish photos of military commanders. Do not mention their names in public, and do not praise their achievements in conversations with foreign friends!" lego 44,165
The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) is a not for profit press monitoring organization with headquarters in Washington, D.C. MEMRI publishes and distributes free English language translations of Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Pashto, and Turkish media reports.[1] The institute was co-founded in 1998 by Yigal Carmon, a former Israeli military intelligence officer and Meyrav Wurmser, an Israeli-born, American political scientist. Brian Whitaker, the Middle East editor for The Guardian newspaper at the time, wrote in a public email debate with Carmon in 2003, that his problem with MEMRI was that it "poses as a research institute when it's basically a propaganda operation".[5] Earlier, Whitaker had charged that MEMRI's role was to "further the political agenda of Israel." and that MEMRI's website does not mention Carmon's employment for Israeli intelligence, or Meyrav Wurmser's political stance, which he described as an "extreme brand of Zionism".[3] http://mashable.com/2014/07/09/the-iron-dome-of-censorship-how-free-is-israels-media/ An Israeli news addict will have a hard time finding out from Hebrew sources about the deaths in Gaza or the names of civilian victims there. The motto of Yisrael Hayom, Israel's most widely circulated daily newspaper, is “Remember we are Israelis.†And I guess that's why its Wednesday’s morning edition didn't contain a word on the civilian casualties. As the sole democracy in the Middle East, as it likes to define itself, the state of Israel has an interesting way of practicing journalism. All Israeli news stories about military activities are subject to military censorship. That means authorities have pre-approved every item the public receives. Furthermore, most correspondents have a cozy relationship with the military. In order to get access to information, they must go through a security clearance and accreditation process controlled by the very same organization they cover. But the Israeli public is hardly eager to hear uncomfortable information anyway. A survey conducted last year by Tel Aviv University found that 52% of Israelis think the media should not publish immoral conduct by the Israeli Defense Forces. The price of this blindness is high, as the recent round of violence illustrates. FreePalestine

I certainly don't feel the way that you feel based on the fact that I'm an Arab , I'm not proud of the government and certainly not proud in MANY of the Israelis. I'm sorry but its so hard not to generalize when I see it all the time, racism is a strong thing in Israel, politics aside now (even though we both know how messed up that topic is too). and by the way you just proved that you're as ignorant as many Israelis. Well... do you feel in danger while walking in your city? Do you feel Israelis you meet hate you for being who you are? There are extremists on both of the sides. My friend once walked near a construction building where some Arabs worked in and they yelled at him "Yahud" or something like that which I know means "Jew" right? And he told me they repeated it a couple of times until he just walked. But again...this is our society. It doesn't represent anything. I don't feel like Racism is strong in Israel. I am not an Arab but I see all the times Arabs. There is no apartheid here or anything like that and you know it There are ufcourse racist extreme rights that are stupid as **** but they are not strong anyways and they never will be strong in the society.
