this is a good thread, do not close it. bickering is unfortunate but to be expected in a thread like this. it isn't spreading around the forum, and while awfully silly or petty at times it is largely harmless, impassioned arguing. there are some discussions moderators need to be lenient with to allow people to fully express themselves and i think this is one of them. this is one of the most important news stories of the year and frankly the most dull and offensive comments to me are the threats and demands to shut the discussion down completely. just let us get on with it. shame on the censors.

if you can't handle it, perhaps you should stop checking this thread or posting in it since it seems to be very distressing for you. people on the other side might feel the same way about your comments but i don't see them begging for the thread to be closed, but if they did, i would suggest the same of them - take a step back.

i really do think it's better if you just stayed out of it. you'd feel better. no need to surround yourself with hate, eh? don't ruin it for the other people who do find the thread informative and who are interested in reading what those who post here, BOTH sides, have to say. whether it's facts or hate speech.

But lies being spoken here, and I have to protect my country, unless, people will hate Israel for no reason. If I won't post here, it will be mostly the Palestinian side posting and bashing Israel for a reason, the reason is hate.

no you don't have to protect your country. you should be interested in the truth and only the truth, not the protection of your country. that sounds malevolent when you put it like that. and you're awfully pessimistic. people can make up their own minds about this from reading the different perspectives. you have to give them the chance to do that. if you're interested in objective facts and debunking lies go ahead, but you're not wise to continue if you are being offended and hurt and want to stop everyone on this entire forum from saying anything at all about this, let alone lies or hate.

make up your mind then. either you want to debunk lies or you want no one to discuss it at all. you can't do both at the same time. really consider allowing people to make their own judgements on this so called hate speech you're seeing. i can guarantee you that gagadaily is a small fry compared to what the rest of the internet has to say about this, and if you are so concerned about some nationalistic ~responsibility~ to protect your country you are certainly wasting your time on this forum and in this thread with that.

What is the connection between the 2 pictures? First one is the Iron Dome, and second is a ruined house. Did you try to say that this is an Israeli rocket? Because it's not.

"I don't want to have to live in a school," said 11-year-old Amin al-Kilani, whose family was driven out of their home in Beit Hanun in northern Gaza after Israel bombarded the area.

"I want to learn here, then just go home," he said.

Amin is one of nearly half a million Gazan children who will not be able to return to class this year, according to the UN children's fund UNICEF.

"Classes will remain closed in the conflict-stricken coastal enclave, denying these nearly 500,000 children their right to education," UNICEF said in a statement Sunday.

At the UN school's symbolic start to the new academic year, a young girl in a party dress recited a poem. A boy in shorts and glasses sang a popular song by the Palestinian winner of Arab Idol.

Proud mothers looked on, some taking pictures of videos with their mobile phones.

A few children appeared to enjoy the spectacle, clapping along, but were visibly disappointed not to be going back to school.

"I was looking forward to school beginning again so I could finish my tawjihi exams (the Palestinian high school diploma)," said 17-year-old Wujud Zayeda.

"This year it's different. One of my friends was injured in a strike near her home. I'm really upset, we just want to learn."

Mother Hanan Matar, 48, was living in the school with her nine children.

"Even the right of our children to study is denied," she sighed.

The school year in Israel in the heavy bombarded southern part won't start as well.
It's a shame that kids have to live this way while they should live in peace.
Like I said in my previous post, education is one of the most important things.

Hope that one day we can be cousins again (Like the cute kid says) without the killing the Jews part. In the end children know what they are being taught. Sadly, most of the young kids didn't even meet an Israeli in their life (Except maybe soldiers) or been to Israel. I remember in the days of Rabin I was in a group of Israeli youth and Palestinian youth who met every week. There was so much hope then. (there was even a cute one called Hamudi, which translates to Cutey in Hebrew). And lets hope there is a real step towards peace soon so Gaza can be rebuilt (without Hamas being rebuilt, cause under their regime they might be free from Israel, which will happen one way or another one day or another, but that will still leave them with a terror organization that doesn't really care for their needs or even lives but only cares for it's on agenda, power and most of all money).

(Yesterday while transportation came to take children like those above to hospitals in Israel Hamas shot rockets on the crossing and prevented that while hurting the drivers... Sad affair)
