Let's not act like world stayed exactly the same as it was back then. If Israel was into killing thousands of people it wasn't to invade Gaza by troops. Ask Hamas why it is so important for him to put his weapons in civilian areas. Israel will target anything that is a threat to its security. Airstrikes are made to minimize the risk of putting out soldiers in danger, In addition Hamas' rockets can by completely destroyed only by air. Yes, it's all about priorities, Israel is an ENEMY to Palestinians, don't act like they can trust the country that stole their land, their priority is to fight and resist. And yes, a lot of things happened since 1948, millions and millions of Palestinians had to leave their country, millions are now living as refugees, and very very probably millions are dead. Israel lost 20000 soldier and 3000 civilians since 1948!! There is absolutely no comparison. Also, the excuse of rockets in civilians areas is complete bullsh*t, the territory is like 5kmX40km and is extremely populated; are you implying that's it's ok to kill hundreds of kids only not risk one soldier? They split the cause (from the group governing West Bank), and keep Israel in defense mode, which means the Jews feel too threatened to make concessions. To my understanding: - A long time ago, Palestinians owned the land that is currently Israel, Gaza, and West Bank. - Jewish refugees from Europe came to settle in that land, and the British allowed them to have power in that land, essentially displacing Palestinians and creating Israel. - Palestinians and Israelis come from different religions, causing even more conflict. - A group called Hamas from Palestine allegedly kidnapped and killed 3 Israeli teenagers, triggering the conflict right now. - Israel retaliated and attacked Palestine (innocent civilians too - not just Hamas). - Hamas retaliated and now the two have been fighting for months. - Israel offered a ceasefire for 72 hours but Hamas attacked Israel after 2 hours. - The UN can't do anything? - The US has something to do with this?
