So you're going to go through the whole thread and hide every post with people gloating and/or insulting people who were disappointed, right? Like the people who called others "drama queens" and "pressed" and basic?

I am saying we need to stop doing that on both sides, and I've been hiding posts on both sides. I haven't gone back through the entire thread yet.

I feel there is a lot of unfair dismissiveness going on here.

I don't think anyone claimed it was "stolen", as is being said here. Instead the issue was whether we got a production that was recycled and put out for a bunch of songwriters to potentially use, rather than being composed for and inspired by the ethos of ARTPOP.

Can people here at least appreciate why a devoted fan would be disappointed that one of the most promising songs on ARTPOP could very easily have been a 'The Good Natured' song, and at least understand (if not agree) that from some people's perspective that reduces the instinct value of the song and the integrity of the album, which has been heavily pushed as a 'work of art'.

I'm confused. I didn't realize we thought Gaga worked on every single piece of production on all of her albums. Or even why anyone would be disappointed that she wrote a song over an already existing track, seeing as she's still writing the song and it is really 0% different. There are still a million different melodies you could come up with over the same track, so I don't think it takes anything away from the creative process at all.  She was inspired in this case by a backing track, other times she's inspired by other stuff.  She still came up with the idea, lyrics, concept, theme, melody, etc etc etc etc which is what songwriting is.

I don't think anyone actually thinks Gaga sits in the studio messing around with FL Studio or whatever they use and creates herself an instrumental from scratch do they? I'm sure she'll write a hook, or a melody, perhaps string a few chords together as a base for her track and get a producer to build an instrumental around what she wants. It's more involved that some other pop artists. It's still nice to know though that Gaga hasn't completely just copy/pasted an existing instrumental for MJH.
