Except Gaga literally took whole instrumentals and tweaked them....

I hope she has better songs (that she actually took the time to create) that she purposefully did not put on this album, saved for later.  No wonder I love Venus so much... It came straight from her.

So it took 2.5 years to choose the instrumentals that she liked and sing over them :hor: :hor:

essentially ARTPOP is gaga doing karaoke over a compilation of other people's songs. it's dishonest to call this a "lady gaga" album. next we'll find out lady gaga isn't her real name!

Oh my god this thread has almost ruined the album for me :nooo: not because I don't like it but after all the talk I thought this would be her most ambitious album to date :deadbanana:

I knew about Aura obviously but now I find out that MJH and Donatella are recycled too? What the actual ****, it's like a blow to my stan heart lol, I expect much better from Gaga. Leave DJWS, get Fernando back and keep Rubin. I know it's not Zedd and madeon's fault but it's very telling that theirs are recycled.

And Gaga should start producing her own stuff like Venus or focus more on piano stuff.

This must be the biggest disappointment I've ever felt for Gaga :(

That's sad.  Who knows what else on ARTPOP was recycled.

I hope at least 2-3 songs are original...

Dont forget Do What U Want is kinda recycled too, DJWS got the beat from his friend called Martin

she didn't IMITATE anyone. there is no imitation involved here. look up the definition of the word.

im·i·tate  (m-tt)

tr.v. im·i·tat·ed, im·i·tat·ing, im·i·tates

1. To use or follow as a model.

2.

a. To copy the actions, appearance, mannerisms, or speech of; mimic: amused friends by imitating the teachers.

b. To copy or use the style of: brushwork that imitates Rembrandt.

3. To copy exactly; reproduce.

4. To appear like; resemble.

And she always uses the right samples. Alejandro's violin is epic>>>>>

It's like a rebirth. Madonna's Hung Up and Sorry are marvelous too

Thanks for the link!

Yeah, I like samples :) It tells you quite a lot about an artist's tastes and influences. Funny to notice Madonna has recycled herself a few times, for instance :laughga: :reductive:

You're welcome!

:toofunny: Oh well at least its more acceptable that ripping of the whole song

huh? this isn't similar at all to the method of appropriation used here. they used a melody from a classical song, programmed it into a synth violin and build up an entirely original track around it.

I think this is why i prefer her older music. She used to write at the piano first, and then they would make the track. This time around, it seems like the producer sends her a track and she writes on top of it

yes, that's why I said that its not the same  :awkney:

i'm checking out Bad Romance and not only Gaga didn't sample anything for it, but the song was actually sampled by others.

:rip: original Gaga
