CONCEPT IDEA: What if Gaga did an ironic era?

I was just thinking about possible concepts and ideas for the next album, and something that crossed my mind was Gaga to do an ironic era, based around the idealistic expectations of a female popstar. Gaga would be a super blonde and s-xually appealing star. But in reality, she wouldn't be surrendering to the criticism of how avant-garde she is, instead she would be poking fun at society and her critics criticism of her.

Making music like 'Just Dance', and 'Poker Face', but making it clear through the lyrics and the music videos that she was actually behind this idea and wasn't just selling out.

I suppose if I had to sum up the concept in one sentence, it would be "Is this what you want from me?", but of course avant-gardeGa would return.

It would be a clever way of speaking about Gaga's feelings towards those who have betrayed and abandoned her, as well as given her the opportunity to write music about a subject that she finds fascinating and is proven to write about very well - fame and celebrity.

And no, another era about 'fame' wouldn't be a bad thing. There's been a million popstars who have had every era of theirs revolving around the boring theme of love. Gaga writes about fame.

The era could be Gaga's chance to expose the shallowness of the industry, and also regain her mainstream appeal.

Sellebrity.

ARTPOP seemed pretty ironic considering the era was supposed to signify a fusion of art and pop not only in the visuals but the music too. Videos/Photoshoots etc with the likes of I&V, Koons went part of the way to achieving that, but the music itself was a little 'out of touch' from what Gaga made it out to be.

i like the idea, but sounds like an excuse to release basic sounding music without being basic. which is kinda of basic imo

It would definitely be more easier to grasp for the GP (if we're talking about her getting back the GP in terms of sales and charts). She could do it with her sassy, tounge-in-cheek lyrics.

I would be here for that.

Came here to say this

ARTPOP's theme was totally different.

It was about reversing Andy Warhol's Popart concept. It had nothing to do with the concept of celebrity.

not sure if she should do that tbh..

For next era she should just don't talk and slay everything, this will be the ultimate **** you in my opinion..

If it's possible I would even suggest her doing 0 interviews etc..  but of course the material has to be really good..

I'm not saying it was intentionally ironic :teehee:

Do you consider The Fame basic?

It'd be cool if she was sarcastic, and didn't really had to fight for it in her lyrics. If she ever should do an ironic or sarcastic era I think she should go all out and the era itself would speak for itself. Imo it would've been weak if she had to use lyrics to get her message out there. but idk
