Why Is It Hard For Some To Understand and Admit The Decline of Gaga?

Speaking from what we have so far in the U.S, there's no way she's riding off her past success for artRAVE.
She's pulling bigger attendances than the BTWB at some shows.
BTWB San Jose had 11k people there while artRAVE San Jose had over 14k.

of course she's not as successful and relevant as her glory 2009/2011 years, but she's still a major pop act and her career is far from being over. we have seen a lot of stand up by other artists after more low eras

Karma has every one's address and a motherf*cking stamp. Monsters used the fact Gaga was number one to put down people like Katy, now Katy has a couple number 1's and whats happening? It's being used to put down Gaga. It's Karma. Monsters should think about being positive about Gaga's work instead of so negative and number obsessed all the frickin' time.

"gaga hasn't had a number one song in about 9 months! She's on the decline!" Do you not see how f*cking stupid you sound? SLAVES TO THE CHARTS.

This is just a little but of a rough spot in her career.. she'll bounce back obviously. She is so talented and people underestimate her relevance.

Because most people are just protective because of all the hate. Everyone sees the decline.

This. And sure she's not in her peak, but she's still huge. I don't see the point of your topic tbh. It's not like people who deny her decline(the ones you are addressing, right?) are gonna read it and be like "OMG I finally saw the light, Gaga's flopping. Thanks so much for opening my eyes". :toofunny: I'm sure she'll make a great comeback(at this point I hate this word so much... :flop: )with her next era. It's pretty normal to have highs and lows, she can't be on top forever.

Well, sure, but how does that make for a good discussion topic? :rip:

There's nothing we can say.

*Its not about discussing THIS topic, its about stop being held back by this whole tired and bored ass topic that is "gaga's a flop" vs "gaga's not a flop" topic. If we all agree on one point, then that's one HUGE step of moving on to better topics, in a way.

Katy Perry

She declined by a lot by falling into the average category. "Flopping" is her selling average/slightly above average. People aren't used to that considering she practically ruled the world a few years ago.

Certain aspects caused the decline to happen, if they were avoided she wouldn't be in the position she is now. She's not in too terrible of a situation but she has the potential of falling into complete irrelevancy if she doesn't gain back the respect of the GP soon.

Why? I mean it's more than a common sense. I mean artRave is selling well but that is because of her past success.

I know that it's not the end of Gaga, but still some of you are acting like Gaga didn't decline big time.

While in terms of chart success and popularity there has been a decline, it's unfair to say that "Lady Gaga is in decline" because that implies a decrease in the quality of her music and performances (which I would vehemently argue is not the case).

I prefer to think of it as Gaga is in a period of transition, from her ginormous 2009-2011 levels of fame (which no artist can sustain forever) to a more stable following and level of sales.

I agree, she did have a decline, that much is true but some are exaggerating her decline and acting like she's on the verge of bankruptcy and that she's ending her career ... She's far from it, she's still on par with her contemporaries and ArtRave is selling quite nicely for an apparent "Flop" era ... This era was messy and we all know it, and this might seem like an excuse but it would have been better if there was better management ... Maybe not no. 1 but definitely better than the current situation ... The music is definitely good enough, it's just the "IN" thing to hate Gaga at the moment ...

Yeah I should have said that way, but you can take it not literally though.

She needs to re-invent herself, period. Her next album can't just be typical "fun" pop music.. people these days like deep songs. A whole album with "dope" or "gypsy" type songs would have sold better than ARTPOP. She needs to work with different producers too. Artists that are really smashing these days bring something different to the table.
