First, Gaga said ARTPOP could mean anything, which was cool and etc, but that's not really a satisfying answer or explanation. Anything could be a mess. Then she talked about mixing art with pop music. Idk if it's just me that didn't see how she reflected that theory on the music on ARTPOP or that she didn't even do it in the first place. So let's say it is about mixing art and pop, where's the art in ARTPOP? The cover? That's it? How did she mix art with pop music? Where's that reflect on the tracks? Venus? Applause? Idk maybe it's MY perception of art that doesn't let me understand what Gaga tried to say about art and pop in ARTPOP. Maybe she had a different vision about her art and music? Interesting that it's from the BTW era. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LQl3j8nyaE What I get from that is that "ARTPOP" is just a phrase for what she has been doing for a while now, not just for this particular album, but obviously her ideas grew/developed with time and this era (not necessarily each song) was dedicated to the subject.
