Pop 4,541
This. I don't understand how people can say that is her best album overall. It has some amazing tracks, but is way too short to be called her best album imo. I don't get why people are obsessed with this "8-track EP" concept. The concept of the album is more clear. Less filler. And it would mean Gaga can release more frequently. The Taylor Brigade: KNOCKOUT
Gov Hooka 8,008
ARTPOP ACT I 01. ARTPOP 02. VENUS 03. G.U.Y. 04. SEXXX DREAMS 05. DO WHAT U WANT (feat Christina Aguilera) 06. DOPE 07. GYPSY 08. Cody Draco 2,531
ARTPOP ACT I 01. ARTPOP 02. VENUS 03. G.U.Y. 04. SEXXX DREAMS 05. DO WHAT U WANT (feat Christina Aguilera) 06. DOPE 07. GYPSY 08. APPLAUSE The new TFM, the critical acclaim, the smashes: Gypsy (1), Do What U Want (2), SeXXX Dreams (3), Applause (4) Get rid of so many amazing songs just for some critical acclaim? No. DWUW without R. Kelly? No. Gypsy as lead single? No. Sorry I'm not here for that. ARTPOP is perfect the way it is. The music isn't the problem. Gaga's management issues (including lack of promo, no video for DWUW when it was charting well), choosing G.U.Y as third single over so many songs that are more radio friendly, and the way Gaga presented the album to the world are the problems. This is just my opinion. Gypsy or Sexxx Dreams should've been the third single instead of G.U.Y. :reductive:
IAmThatGUY 0
Every single artist has messy eras, just like human life basically lol. There's bound to be ups and downs. And you can only go up from the downers Exactly it's if they survive them that will keep them around and she seems to be surviving well since the tour is going well. barnabesk 1,230
Gaga's conceptual approaches for each era are really great but she should shape each era and album a bit more subtle... Born This Way has a great message and great music lyrically wise but hyping it up to the maximum by calling it the album of the generation isn't going to make it well received by the GP and the critics. The same problem happened with ARTPOP. If you create a whole era based on your philosophy of "ARTPOP", then why not be more modest and let the GP and critics find their own interpretation of it. I guess it's not working if you throw the whole thing at once in the faces of the listeners. It might have been more helpful to create music that is a) touching on the topic more consistenly and b) finer in its execution.

Pop 4,541
And you get rid of the artiest, most avant garde song on the album aka Aura I'm saving it for ACT II, which is more electronic and alternative in nature. It would be released after the GP accepted her back with ACT I. 01. AURA 02. SWINE 03. PARTYNAUSEOUS 04. DONATELLA 05. *NEW SONG* 06. *NEW SONG* 07. *NEW SONG* 08. *NEW SONG* Releasing the album in two EPs would make it easier for non-stans to digest the lush themes of ARTPOP. Battle 4 Ur Life 6,713
so much truth...it's time to let it die...but the songs will live forever... “Fantastic, chic, freak, slay.”
Raikou 1,169
Hopefully she learns from her mistakes and this era will remain her 'messiest'. I also hope she doesn't completely veer away from EDM. :haha:
Economy 49,803
Not flaming but I'm sorta glad this era is almost over! tbh And franquly, it was her weakest album over-all Maybe musically TF was below ARTPOP but performances taken into account ARTPOP was just so reductive following TFM and BTW. Sorry its how i feel
Bambino 24,290
Kinda agree. The era looked so promising. Sadly it ended way too soon. But enjoy whatever it offered anyway
Pop 4,541
it's an interesting concept but it didn't happen MANiCURE, Fashion, Mary Jane Holland and Brooklyn Nights would get released through the app as cute B-sides that they are. Jewels'n'Drugs wouldn't exist. Michael 533
Oh well, whatevs. Time can't be turned back now. Just remember ARTPOP for all of the amazing things it gave us, and there were plenty.
Nemo 4,293
Lets face it - she is already promoting C2C with Tony on CBS, Today show etc..Well, apparently she's pre-recording promo for September, since she has the time now. Radios totally rejected G.U.Y. as a single for like no reasonUgh. This. It fills me with anger and incomprehension.
