no... We should do our best for our nation. It's sad to see that these "criminals" respect the nation values way more than most of the citizens.

Except they cost this nation billions of dollars every year... respectful

And i'd say the nation holds following the law more as a value than breaking the law.

Also, American citizens have a right to this country. Non-ctizens do not have a right to this country. If you respected the nation, you'd apply for a greencard.

I never said they were the most respectful people in the US. I implied that many US citizens treat their country like **** and that immigrants wouldn't be such a big problem if citizens were not so lazy. I only wanted to highlight that these 3 points you posted were false.

Whispering

The only thing I was trying to get across was - if you don't like the results of something, stop doing anything and everything that causes those result.

If you don't like the conditions you'll be put through in a country, don't go. If you don't like your weight, don't eat junk food ever (yes, it is that simple. Regardless of these conditions many members claim are the cause of obesity, which rarely effect those with actual weight problems, you cannot get fat eating salads, vegetables, fruit, and having a general balanced diet. It's easy to avoid weight issue and the health issues along with it for most people - if they want to!).

They don't like the results of their living conditions for their family. That's why they risk everything, including their lives, to come into this country. They aren't the ones complaining about the conditions or they fact that they work at minimal labor jobs with no benefits for a small portion of the money citizens would receive.

No, it's not that simple. If you have been blessed to have a good metabolism and zero health issues, then good for you, but it is not that simple for others. BTW, no one ever said that the cause of obesity was conditions and medications, just that you were making a blanket statement without considering that others don't have it as good or as easy as you do. It isn't simple and easy for everyone.

Your insistence on how easy and simple weight loss is, with your general disregard for the multiple issues concerning weight issues is not only narrow minded, but completely insensitive on a forum full of young people, many who have shared their stories of body image problems that make them suicidal and many that admit to struggling with an eating disorder! Impressionable young people, some who are struggling on a daily basis, are reading your comments...just stop!

Seriously, what is up with you that you have so little empathy for others?

Economy

I'd rather live in an economy half the size of America's (with the same population) than live in China. At some point we have to be rational human beings and say that China's GDP is completely irrelevant as the country will continue to suffer as it holds billions of people in the grips of communism and corruption (along with poverty and starvation). So not really sweating it too much

Well so would I. China over-all is still a poor Country

But the point im trying to make isnt whether or not Chinas GDP surpassing the US has anything to do with prosperity or not...

My point is you said for many years to come the US is gonna be the biggest economy most GDP etc etc etc

Regardless of whether you wanna look at the largest economies in total, or on a per capita basis...

The US is already far from #1 on a per Capita Basis not even hitting the top 10 according to the rankings of most major organizations... And in total China is about to Surpass the US and India eventually as well...

The US will for the forseable future remain a world power and a prosperous Nation. But your just not gonna be #1 anymore in any sort of measurement. Even other measuremets used to measure prosperty and competitiveness such as PPP (Purchasig power parity), HDI (Human Development Index), or even most competitive economies...

The US isnt #1 in any of the rankings. Just accept that the US in the new modern world is only gonna be #1 in military power but not economically. If you dont like it you can stay pressed :MANiCURE:

You cant just let anyone in. If people show up uninvitedly you gotta go back

I had a friend who came to Canada from India 3 years ago. He came illegaly tho and he wasnt able to settle it and he got sent back

It sucks, and i liked him, he was nice... Id prefer he didnt have to go. But can we just let any unskilled people into our Nations? I think not

America is so ****ing wealthy but they cannot provide some matresses, blankets and pillows for these kids. :awkney:

Poor ass Serbia recently had floods, people lost their homes and they were treated better than this.

Oh, but these are Serbian citizens after a natural disaster. Illegal immigrants in the US are the equivalent to a plague as this thread shows.

I hope they get new facilities or something because the situation looks really bad.

They are all humans. No one was checking their documents, some of them could be illegal refugees, gypsies, from Kosovo etc, but you first provide them with basics and then you decide what's next. It's so inhumane to keep these kids on concrete floor in jail-like cells like they are animals. Even animals are treated better.

Not pressed. The best defense is a good offense :/

lol this comparison wasn't meant to be a talking point  :toofunny:

I'm not discussing this comparison from the perspective of eating disorders and body image issues. I've only made points about this example from the perspective that if you want something in your'e life to be different, do something different instead of sitting around and feeling sorry for yourself.

I empethize very much for people who suffer from body image issues. Stop making judgments on me. They are not welcome or accurate. Although I never understood the concept of adopting eating disorders to fix body image issues. I don't see why we can't have an open discussion about healthy ways to change your body, rather than teaching people that "fat" is an offensive word because all that does is condition people to be offended by such a word. Fat isn't something to be ashamed of or feel insecure about because you are the captain of your body and life, but if you want to change your weight for your own reasons, then you should have the tools and knowledge to do so. And it's called work.

Like the queen says, "You what a hot body? You better work, b*tch!"   :Jase:

Careful now!!!

That kind of speech about reality will get you labeled as a xenophobic racist pig with no empathy or compassion for other human beings in this thread! They appear to be allergic to harsh realities (realists non-the-less).  :emma:

No, actually what he said sounds reasonable. Your posts, however, show a lack of empathy.

I am curious, what do you think of weed smoking in the legal sense? I mean, anybody who smokes illegal substances is a criminal, and if people like Gaga or your local user were arrested, I can easily say "I am unsympathetic bc they knew full well that doing it was illegal." Would you say the same thing to illegal d--g users who also willingly and brazingly break the law? (I am for legalization but im talking about the principle).

Except I don't see holders of doctoral and bachelor degrees settling out to do menial field work :awkney: There's a lot of talk of pushing them out but what's next? Who'll filll CA's agricultural gap?
