sad, jimmy was great mentor to gaga and understood her greatness, hopefully john will do the same

i'm sure he will,  he was managing an indie label :) so i believe he'll be appreciative of REAL talent

So he's the reason for Judas and not making Scheiße a single. hZwVhucs.gif

I did like the Born This Way singles he picked, though I do believe that Heavy Metal Lover would've made an amazing single. Oh well, I wish nothing but the best for him!

So the man who signed Gaga and has been picking the singles since Judas is leaving Interscope to work at Apple under their new deal. I know there's another thread about hw acquisition, but I wanted to make sure everyone realized Jimmy was leaving as it's kinda relevant to Gaga.

One of many news articles reporting this: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mattlynley/apple-buys-beats-entertainment-for-3-billion

maybe now we wont get such bad singles choices cause between him and Gaga :awkney:

He decided to make Applause the lead... and one of Gaga's friend inside Interscope, it's kinda sad really

Didn't she say that it was Vincent Herbert who suggested that Applause be the lead single after she played him the whole album?

I think from Judas on things kind of fell apart, so maybe this is for the better

What will Interscope be w/o Iovine now :nooo:

John Janick is more rock and pop rock, I can see eventual major change is coming within the label!!

Am I the only one happy about this...I feel that Interscope has been toxic for Gaga and him leaving will most likely be the best for her :manicure:

Hmm. I don't understand where this notion that there will be drastic "favourable" changes with regards to Gaga is coming from. If the article from Billboard has to be believed, the new CEO has been in full control of the label even long before this announcement, considering he's already the President / COO of the label and the fact that Iovine has been preparing his entry to Apple. It's the same time of the promotional run for G.U.Y., and it's also the time frame wherein Interscope hasn't released a hit single yet as opposed to its rival labels. The last hit they had, I believe, was OneRepublic's Counting Stars. And that was during the first two months of this year. It's also currently the highest-charting single from Interscope on the HOT 100 chart, which has now left the top 20.

If these are any indication of how this label is going to be run, I wouldn't say it's promising. But, it's still too early to tell for us to pass judgment. Same goes on whether this new change would benefit Gaga or not. However, if there's one thing certain, Iovine was very vocal of his support for Gaga, something John Janick isn't... yet.
