Interviewer: "So what do you think about lip-syncing?"

Gaga: "I'm not gonna repeat myself, so you can go google it"

She's not gonna do that, she's gonna answer the question, again. :lmao:

Well that would be a refreshing answer imo lol

its not a big deal i was just saying

Why can't the people on this forum understand the difference between a back tracking and lip synching? It's always the same in every thread.

Seriously.

Look at it this way: If you go to karaoke, for example... and you sing the chorus full-out, you will also clearly hear supplemental backup vocals doing harmony and possibly even doing the melody as well. Are you lip-syncing?

In regards to whether Gaga's lip-synced or not:

Technically, no.

That being said, she has a tendency to sing under the backing track when it's convenient for her.

How much that differs from lip-syncing is up to you.

its different because lip-syncing is just the singer miming the song.

Whoever made this gif used "had" instead of "have" and it makes it look like Gaga has really bad grammar. It's killing me..

I think there is a difference between lip synching a chorus or singing over a backing track and lip synching an entire show.

No. When someone lip synches it's mostly done so people aren't aware that the person isn't singing live but people can still tell. While using a backing track it's more obvious to the audience that the artist is using it. All of the artists that I have seen use back track only use it for certain parts of the songs whether it's the chorus or verses or whatever but they also sing along too or sing most of the song. Lip synching doesn't seem to serve that purpose it isn't a sing along with the song but no singing at all or the recording is doing all the work.

All of this may sound a little weird.

I mean, obviously. But if the singer is intentionally singing under the song so they aren't heard, is there that much of a difference?

I think there may have been a misunderstanding. I was totally agreeing with you :)

I'm glad she's vocal about this matter, and she's right. Just because you can dance your butt off, it doesn't mean you should neglect anything else about giving a show, specially if you're a "singer."

Whoever is claiming that gaga lipsyncs choruses needs to go to a gaga show live.  Video recordings muffle the sound and make it seem like the playback is so loud, and that we can't even hear her real voice.  However, when you are there live, that is not the case.  Her live vocals during the choruses are strong and clearly evident.  And the playback is at the perfect volume.  Don't say she lipsyncs without actually being at one of her shows.  Cuz if u actually attended one of her shows, she'd prove to u in within the first 10min that she does not lipsync and that she probably never will.  I even have evidence of this.  For example, how come we never hear her real voice during the chorus of Sexxx Dreams but only heard her live vocals during the Roseland performance of that song?  It's cuz that was a professional recording, which proves my point.
