VforVendetta 2,024
I agree that they both convey a message well, but I still disagree with you saying she doesn't glamourise it. Ok, I hope that at least I helped you you see it from a better point of view.

wahkeenasitka 1,995
Gaga's d--g use is the only thing I cannot stand about her. I think its disgusting. have you ever done psychedelic mushrooms before? if you haven't, then you don't know what you're talking about. There is no real singer-performer that isn't taking d--gs or alcohol or both. This is not because it really helps them somewhere or it is a good thing but because they can't handle their life and their fame and they usually have unstable personalities. Their life is very different than ours and their fortune and fame comes with a price. Don't judge them that easily, they are not happy people in a traditional way. This is just ridiculous. Many, and I mean millions, of non-famous "normal people" take d--gs and/or alcohol every day. It has absolutely nothing to do with fame, fortune, unstable personalities and "fame coming with a price" - it is because humans are naturally inclined towards altering their consciousness. people like to feel high. period. She glamourises it in my opinion. Look at MJH, I love the song but it's all about how much fun she has on d--gs. Have you ever smoked pot? Have you ever taken mushrooms - or dropped acid? How old are you? I will admit, when I was 16 / 17, I was still extremely judgmental and fearful of all d--gs.... and I had bought into the "d--gs are bad and scary" propaganda from growing up... But, I will be the first to admit that many of the best experiences of my entire life were with using psychedelics.. You experience from first hand Gaga's emotions with d--gs, the constant ups and downs. Isn't this what d--gs are doing in the first place? In the beginning they make you feel amazing and that nothing really matters but when their influence ends you feel low and alone because you've been d--gged for too long and life feels empty. You're speaking like a guy who is making a huge generalization based on propaganda without any experience to back it up. I'm not advocating d--g use; I'm simply saying that you guys are making huge judgments about things that you don't know and have no experience with... And putting psychedelics (acid / mushrooms / mescaline) in the same category as narcotics (c-----e / heroin) or other things (like meth) is like saying that eating watermelon makes you feel the same as when you eat pizza. I am 16. Look, you can see it which ever way you like. You are likely to stand by d--g users if you have messed with that stuff yourself, having not done so I find it repulsive and do not advocate Gaga's use of them, or anyone else's for that matter. You don't need to take d--gs to have opinions on them, that's like saying you need to murder yourself before you are able to make real opinions on them and their actions. I can understand the feeling of wanting to be high and avoid the problems of life. I said that Famous people use them much more because their life is much more different than ours, much more intense and sometimes much more lonely. Excuse me but being a d--g user doesn't make you more subjective, the opossite I'd say. You can do what you want with your life but if you want to keep something from me that is don't live your life under the influence of anything that d--gs your mind. Drugs ARE bad, there is a reason they are called d--gs. It's like you don't want to face life but life is a gift.

Let's have this conversation when you're 30 years old, shall we? In all likelihood, by the time you're in your twenties, you will be experimenting with lots of things that you have fear or judgement about when you're young. I know I did. My final statement is this: I have experimented with lots of mind altering substances over the years (I'm 34) and I'm completely sober at this point in my life and never take d--gs (not even pot). But that's because I've already experimented with lots of things and have grown up and know that I prefer to be sober. But having experimented with lots of psychedelics in the past, I can with absolute authority say that they are amazing and you guys really shouldn't knock what you don't know or understand. It's just the same thing as people making nonsensical judgments about gay people because they have not developed any relationships with gay people and don't have enough experience to see that they are wonderful people. I always think it's hilarious and weird when people love & admire music artists who have obviously been experimenting with psychedelics... but then have nothing but judgment against the d--gs. My dad was the same way; he loved Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles & The Doors.. and listened to their music all the time.. but had nothing but judgment for the d--gs. Whether it's Gaga or Jimi Hendrix, I know for a fact that mind altering substances, specifically entheogens - are capable of opening up your creativity and self-expression.. and that they are directly responsible in many ways for the artists becoming so uncorked and free... don't knock what you don't understand. blacklistedd 599
This is the first time I've ever described something as 'disgusting' on this forum so just don't I don't care how many times you have personally used it. The point is you used it and its a disgustingly overused adjective on pop forums. So don't.
