GagaUnderYou 4,978
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARTPOP When Gaga had her little twitter feud with Calvin Harris about EDM I thought ARTPOP would be an EDM album from start to finish. The only really sounding hard EDM tracks are Swine, Aura, and Donatella sort of. Even when Stache sounded like a hard EDM track, I wish she had songs like Animals by Martin Garrix or even the beat from SELFIE. ARTPOP then would have truly done better because that is what people are into now. ARTPOP still has flawless tracks though.

The Fame Animal 0
It's pop music with EDM influences (with exceptions to Aura, G.U.Y., Swine, and MJH), which is probably why people consider it EDM.

Blue Jeans 3,815
EDM abbreviation for "Electronic Dance Music" - includes trance, house, techno, breakbeat, gabber, hardcore, and much, much more. Aura, Swine, Mary Jane Holland, Donatella, G.U.Y., Venus, Sexxx Dreams, Do WHat U Want, even fashion! is considered edm, applause, the only songs that arent really edm : ARTPOP and dope EDM is much more than what you're used to, selfies and turn down for what are EDM, but there is different kinds of music, EDM is really just a general term its like a big box that contains other subgenres, like Trap, Trance, House, Dubstep..... Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen

VFD 57
Gaga's album cannot be defined that easily into one sole genre, apart from pop. BTW, for example, had an overall rock influence. The same could be said for ARTPOP being mainly, although not completely, EDM. And Zedd stated before it dropped that they didn't intend to do and EDM album, but at the same time were open to the idea.

Anomaly 159
Gaga's original vision was much more ravey and EDM sounding. PARTYNAUSEOUS, High Princess, Tinnitus, Swine, etc. fit that theme much more. Let's not forget that there were so many songs that didn't make it onto the album that probably were much more experimental than those that did. Those songs were probably the true ARTPOP, and the basis for the album being considered EDM.
djBuffoon 12,102
"EDM" is an incredibly broad term. So is "pop", for that matter. I would say this record counts as both?
