ACT II doesn't seem like a smart move

She can still use the same songs, but it needs to be rebranded.

Definitely!

I'd have to agree with you. ARTPOP hasn't been received well by the masses; I understand we, her fans, love it so much. Sure it's sold some 700,000 copies WW but the reviews indicate that in terms of quality it's not up to scratch. I can agree with those reviews to be honest. It's not better than Born This Way or any of her previous work. It just isn't. In saying that, I adore it though. But if she were to release another ARTPOP, it's likely that it just won't take off for her. Singles won't do well. The 'ARTPOP' tag has already run out of steam in the media and with critics, and it has left people with a sour taste in their mouth.

If she decides to go ahead with Act 2, and it seems like she has - her best bet is to quietly release it during the tour at some point. No more singles from ARTPOP - just new material without an ounce of hype. GUY hasn't taken off and won't.

You mean in America, love. I almost had a heart attack :lmao:

Gaga should do a different title for act 2 possibly but I think she should DEF do act 2. Maybe "Lady Gaga. ARTPOP Presents: Dance Tech". Or Lady Gaga: Pop Tech". Something that connects the ARTPOP album to act 2 without just being named ARTPOP Act 2.

I just would be really disappointed not to get any new music for a long time after being teased with the possibility of it. Although ARTPOP is a great album, I'm hungry for more - she could release it tomorrow and I'd buy it and enjoy it, regardless of if it charted at #1 or didn't chart at all.

She seems very passionate about ARTPOP as a movement, so I guess she's going to keep the title in there, if she does release a second act. An engaging single would eradicate any issues of the title, so I'm not too worried about that. At the end of the day, I really hope we do get Act II, sooner rather than later. I think during the tour would be the best option, but that's purely a selfish reason for wanting it ASAP.

Maybe move on a next project, and maybe 3-5 albums later, release ARTPOP act 2

She definitely does care.

If Gaga truly cared about that kind of thing, she would have promoted G.U.Y. to maximize on it's hit potential.

If shes going to release new music i'd rather her just release a new album. But if she releases a second act, it all depends on the sound. If its drastically different and the quality is there, even despite the title it will be fine. But thats a long shot with her. If we just get another fine enough pop album I don't think anything will change and she needs change. Anyway, i'd rather her just release a new record or at least call it something else. And she better not wait a year to release it either. Its always a waiting game with her and its tiresome.

I do want a second part but I agree, she either needs to start a new direction after the artRave or continue with this one, just under a different name

Born This Way > Joanne > The Fame Monster > The Fame > ARTPOP

Anything she releases now under the brand of ARTPOP is automatically bad marketing.

Ugh who cares about what the public thinks. Gaga doesn't so why should we? Just enjoy the music, I'm sure Act II will be brilliant so bring it on.

TFM is not overrated. It deserves every piece of praise it gets. As does ARTPOP. Apologies I got the sales figure wrong - I knew it was around 2 1/2 million WW. I will buy and love everything Gaga releases - I'll still offer my thoughts from a business point of view however. (I do study Business and Marketing for the people who wish to insult my intelligence in doing so)

Look, the reviews weren't terrible but I think the music scene wanted to be blown away by ARTPOP given how big and bold her previous releases were - and it's clear to me that a lot of people weren't. The sales of the singles reflect that. It's not that I want her to throw away ARTPOP - I want her to better ARTPOP. Releasing a second act titled the same thing might not work for her given how ARTPOP has been interpreted by the media and non-stans after it's release. I want to see her grow as a business woman - she'll always grow as an artist/creator with every new release - but the fact is that the business side of things is quite relevant and valid here; no matter how much she says she doesn't care about charts. She might not - and I applaud her for doing so - but her label will always care about that, and thus it'll always be a part of it.

I do not want to see her conform to the mediocrity of today's Pop Scene. Sales and all that doesn't mean mediocrity. I just want the b---h back. The one who tells it like it is. The one who polarises her audience, who looks like something non-human, who commands the public's attention through statements and videos riddled with double meanings/imagery that means something. She's been very 'conventional' during ARTPOP to be honest, I want to see her turn that inside out like she said she would.

I was not trying to insult your intelligence at all. You're one of my favorite users on here and I love reading your well articulated comments. However, I do think what you want from her is a little contradictory. You want her to have smash single after smash single while being controversial and polarize her audience. Yes, she has done that before in the past, however, she's at a different point at her career now and it just doesn't look like that is going to happen at the moment. Her fans can't have it all. It's either you let the b---h be herself, sell what she wants & let her real talent be shown to the public that they will eventually appreciate, or you force her conform to try to sell a product that she isn't happy with.

Honestly, I think the reason ARTPOP struggled was because she listened too much to her fans and what they wanted. And in reality, her fans don't know what's best for HER. All the "slay" shirts and her telling Howard Stern all the wig changing during the Applause era prove that. She went into deep depression in late 2013 because people can't ever be happy with her anymore. She listened and watered down her sound & quite frankly the result suffered. ARTPOP is still a great record, however, its greatest criticism was that it was not that artistic for having the name that it does. If her fans actually would let her be in control, I bet we would have had a more ambitious sounding album, as Born This Way was.

Act II EP as a limited release please - to get the unreleased gems out for us to enjoy (TEA etc.).

Then lets move on from this era and allow Gaga to convalesce creatively.
