Of course if you go back you can probably find Gaga or someone doing things that others have done in the past and all artists are inspired or influenced by other artists at some point. What makes this different is that Katy is doing all of thing things all at once on one tour. A tour she very well knows is gonna be judged by both her and Gaga's fans comparing which is better, and at a time when the two are being put against each other in the media more than ever. You would think Katy would know not do do certain things for obvious reasons and would make sure to go out of her way not to do things similar to Gaga. But the fact she is being so blatant about all it is really surprising. I'm not sure Gaga was 100% serious with her tweet but if she was I don't blame her one bit. Fans can go on about how she promotes online kindness and all that, but it's one thing to promote kindness and another to let yourself be walked all over. Katy is just vomiting out paint because it makes her pop lmao. That's what I've been thinking. Gaga's SXSW was dark and disturbing. She even introduced the song performance by saying it was about rape, rage and anger. There was nothing that "glamorized" vomit in that performance, it was pretty disgusting. Katy makes sticking her finger down her throat and vomiting paint into a "fun, paint party"! That makes Katy's interpretation way more "glamorous". Katy's concert and her music are going to skew towards young kids, tweens and teens...much more so than any Gaga tour and definitely more than a SXSW performance. The problem, with written/online media is that bringing the news first/quickly nowadays seems more important than actually doing proper research.
