Emvee 8,017
I went to artRAVE to hear ARTPOP as well. Don't spin this to make it seem as if I only wanted to hear Born This Way. And I am by no means immature if that is what you are implying and I do not expect perfection from her in anything. However, I think you dismissing Born This Way's singles as "flops" is by no means mature. Practice what you preach. No it's called logic. She's performing a lot of TF and TFM singles because they were successful and the GP recognize them.
LAS22 60
I'm not even gonna bother to read bc I'm SO over everyone complaining. You think it's awful, good for you. Now stop trying to bring everyone down. I understand, I hate reading negativity as well. I am very rarely negative. And I am by no means trying to bring everyone down. I only wanted to express my disappointment in hopes that she learns from this for future tours. But I also don't appreciate you dismissing my opinion so readily. Get back to me after you've seen the show.
NewYorkCity 10,523
I agree with you that Dope would kill the "rave" mood that she was going for. As much as I wanted to hear it, I understood this decision. However, I completely disagree that no Born This Way songs fit the theme. Several songs could have and would have worked. The Edge of Glory would have been fine, especially paired with Gypsy. You and I could have been played on the piano along with Born This Way. Not to mention that if she decided to incorporate some non-singles, I think Scheiße, Heavy Metal Lover, and even Government Hooker would have fit right in. Plus, Marry The Night's outro would have been great. Yeaj but it is pretty obvious that she didn't want to make it longer and that would mean to sacrifice some of her biggest hits. And I also sure that, as I said, paparazzi and alejandro are songs to take a breath. But they are very popular too. Judas, BTW (studio version), MTN or TEOG are not songs to take a breath, they require a lot of effort on voice and choreo if she does it. And she has already performed You and I on two tours. We have to keep in mind that 60/70% of the people who are there are not hardcore fans who know every song, and they want to listen to the hits they know. She has to please everybody and that's hard to do. So that makes impossible to put everything. And between any BTW single and TF/M singles, TF/M songs fit better on the rave. Of course Scheisse or GH would fit PERFECTLY. But you can stand on the door of a concert and ask to everyone who enters: what do you prefer, Scheisse or Just Dance? You know what MOST of the people will tell you.
LAS22 60
No it's called logic. She's performing a lot of TF and TFM singles because they were successful and the GP recognize them. So was The Edge of Glory. So was You and I. It would not have killed her to add two, maybe three more songs. And I understand that the GP recognizes them, but as a fan and not a member of the GP, I was disappointed. And don't imply that my opinion is illogical because I have explained myself over and over and have stuff to back it up.
Miel 15,009
No it's called logic. She's performing a lot of TF and TFM singles because they were successful and the GP recognize them. That is completely understandable. What I find odd is that The Edge of Glory, going by that logic, totally fits. Yoü and I kind of, also (ehhh, mostly in US, not really anywhere else). I also find it odd that people reason the BTW singles didn't make it because they didn't fit the 'rave' theme, whereas BTW was sung o the piano. I'm sure Gaga has her own reasons for this or that, but some fan reasoning I find a bit odd. edit: I take back about Yoü and I. I was just hoping it'd be a tour staple, because it fits really well :kanyeshrug: 3 points in and ready for more

Obviously she IS on a little bit of a time crunch since she had to shorten a lot of the ARTPOP songs. TEOG, Judas, YAI, and MTN don't compare in worldwide numbers to her preceding singles. If it's a matter of cutting them out by popularity, all except BTW are at the end of the list. Hence, LoveGame was axed too. Next era, Alejandro and Paparazzi might get axed. L.O.G.I.C. It's logical because I can understand why they chose this. You base your bashing of the show on your emotions. You FEEL like she needs to pay more respect to BTW, but absolutely nothing says she must. Numbers, however, say she shouldn't.

JoeMo 3,837
I'm not mad about the setlist at all. I hate that it opens with ARTPOP though... it's such a crap song to open with. So was Highway Unicorn for the BTWB. She should open with something to get the crowd completely pumped like SWINE. www.youtube.com/jmremixes

Now stop trying to bring everyone down. This person is actually legit. He's giving real good reasons unlike most of the complaining. To OP: I agree! I was going to the NYC show and was disappointed she canceled. I was hoping she would perform at least a couple of BTW songs.. and god forbid I'm tired of her piano ballads (stone me)! It may have killed her (or injured... hip) to add 3 more songs. 3 more songs EVERY tour date. That's ALOT. DrewStevens 5,249
The Haus today is nothing like what it was before. Also, the true myth is that the Haus is behind everything. Gaga used to collaborate with creatives outside of the Haus to create the best show on the planet. Now the Haus is like a high school clique doing their own thing. She is still working with people outside of the Haus and the Haus is not behind everything. Some outfits were made by Versace and others by Vex and Dayne Henderson. She is obviously working with people outside of the Haus. The Haus is not even a big thing.
Gaga98 8
Agreed. I don't understans why Judas, which ia a rave song, wasn't performed though.
DrewStevens 5,249
I am well aware of all of that. However, The Edge of Glory was popular in America. So was You and I. I did not expect her to create a special version of the show for the dates that were cancelled. However, I expected her to incorporate SOME (ie more than 1 out of 17) songs from Born This Way on the ENTIRE tour. She made room for The Fame and The Fame Monster and swept Born This Way under the rug. I'd like to see her explain the reasoning behind the decision because too many elements just do not add up. She is performing for the whole world, not just for the US. Only Born This Way and TEOG were big hits worldwide. She is not going to perform non singles so it's not 1 out of 17, it's 1 out of 5. Maybe adding TEOG to the set list would be a good idea but that's all. The Fame and The Fame Monster singles are all more important than any of the BTW singles.
