Dean Winchester 197
I'm okay with it being a rave experience except for the d--gs. It just bothers me that she endlessly talked about being addicted to d--gs and overcoming it-even writing Dope- and saying that she doesn't need d--gs to be creative and now there's all these references to it. Does Dope mean anything to her anymore if the show is full of references to something she "doesn't need"? I hope it stays as just references to d--gs without her actually using d--gs. Good thing she has Asia now cuz i think having a puppy will help her find a different sort of adrenaline from loving her and will keep gagz distracted from d--gs. It just bothers me that she endlessly talked about being addicted to d--gs and overcoming it-even writing Dope- and saying that she doesn't need d--gs to be creative and now there's all these references to it. Does Dope mean anything to her anymore if the show is full of references to something she "doesn't need"? I get that, and I've thought about it a lot. For me, ARTPOP is an album about finding the best version of yourself to be when you are essentially an addict. An addict knows their strengths and weaknesses better than anybody. They unearth the very best and worst in themselves to recover. For Gaga, it's a matter of transmuting her bottomless need to be loved, creative, and adored by thousands into the only way it can be a positive for everybody, which is to be a kickass pop superstar who makes people dance. If she left out the d--g references, the album's redemption arc would ring hollow. For me, the addiction references are a reassurance that nothing is buried or festering. Those memories and failings are part of who she is now -- reliving them and pulling people through them is the confrontation of self that makes "Applause" such a victory song. djBuffoon 12,120
I think she'll be fine, just because she's wearing a pacifier doesn't mean she's instantly going to go pop molly. She's just trying to bring the art"RAVE" part alive by referencing some stuff that's actually relevant to the scene, I guess. Exactly, she is a performer and this is the atmosphere she is creating. artRaver 3,188
Exactly, she is a performer and this is the atmosphere she is creating. People act as if she's going to be giving out capsules of MDMA to the crowd. People have no problem with her saying have a good time and get drunk off your asses but have a problem with this, I see absolutely no difference. :dead: ✿ cherry blossom girl ✿
gagavsartpop 0
I hope there isn't a lot of d--g references. I'll feel so out of place because I HATE d--gs and anything that has to do with them. And I hope this raver atmosphere doesn't get her back into d--gs. Other than that, she looks great. Oh ****ing well. If you don't like it don't go at raves people do d--gs stfu. Morphine Prince 106,044
Guys, I think Gaga can make the tour LOOK and sound like a rave while embracing d--g culture WITHOUT promoting d--g use. I highly doubt she would encourage her fans to do d--gs after her recent experiences. Alcohol is the only one she's promoting.
