This fanbase needs a kick in the pants

Consider the 1d fandom/album(s) success. Nobody besides their fans buy those albums, however, each single, each video breaks records for view, purchases, and spins. Literally NOBODY cares outside of their fanbase, nobody else is really pushing their success except for hoards of teenage girls. Radio stations arent particularly partial to them, and while they receive acclaim in the media, there's not a constant flow of media about their music.

Because their fans push for records and request like it's their job, 1d's sales are often extremely front loaded, meaning they will be number 1 for a while, then rapidly slip down the charts until their next release (which tend to come back to back to "mask" this sliding effect). But because they did in fact reach #1 or break (blank) record, it is virtually impossible for anyone to say they've flopped. In fact, they've likely had the same or slightly more success than their contemporaries, but it's not spread out over as long a period of time.

This used to be us. Except, after we spread the word, the rest of the world warmed up to the music and she became THE popstar. The key is getting the word out about it. We would get things trending worldwide in a matter of minutes. Ever since Gaga said "I don't care about charts" people have just been lazy. In my opinion, i think she means she doesnt care if it what she likes and wants to make musically is a top seller, but that doesnt mean it wouldnt be nice to do well.

I think this kind of spirit, this kind of fight is what this fanbase needs right now. I'm grateful that Gaga is still going to continue making the kind of music she does regardless of where she's charting, and that she's not going to adjust her artistry to sell tons BUT that doesn't mean that we cannot fight for her to have a successful single.

That being said, go request GUY. :whitney: Because at the very least, we should give our best girl Gagz all the fight we've got

It's not really our duty to promote Gaga's singles for her though  If one direction fans take on this role so be it but that's not exactly reason for a gaga fan to do so.

In the UK at least, One Direction's album was the best selling of 2013 (just ahead of Emeli Sandé's) so it's not as if their success relies entirely on requesting the latest single on radios...

People have tried requesting GUY, but the radio stations won't play her brand new single, yet they'll play Katy Perry every 10 minutes :awkney: It's not the fans not supporting... It's just the overall assumption that "Gaga's music is flopping, so why would I bother playing it" when it comes to the radio.

Yah, never understand people who could buy a record to support Gaga but didn't and still call themselves a fan.

that's true, its not our jobs, its her management's.

but as a fan that loves her music and wants the rest of the world to hear her talent too, the least i can do is to make an effort

Requesting isn't gonna make them play the song.

They usually play older singles when you request a new single.

And also G.U.Y. is commercially finished.
