i get that its both by steven klein but the comparison just isnt there. "the venus video that coulda been" is just unecessary. there's nothing gaga esque about this video other than being dark and s-xual.

I really hope Gaga is taking notes. This is a GREAT music video. Brooke is my new favorite thing atm.

Yes! She has a true artistic freedom to create whatever she wants to doGaga tried that with Swine performance (love love love!), and got a huge backlash and more hate. Whatever, I would be totally here for Gaga doing crazy shiz like that

She used to do crazy shiz like that... and that's the Gaga I want back

I don't recall anything that can top the crazy Swine performance

I agree with you to an extent.

I don't want her to be this diabolical and attention-seeking, but I definitely miss her theatrics. Those were the days.

I know that Gaga is trying to prove to everyone that she can sing and that she's more than her gimmicks, but those gimmicks made me fall in love with her. Now she feels more, hm, ''basic'' in a way.

And this video goes to show that you're only as strong as your team. Gaga needs a good team of people behind her back asap.

And yet people waste their time writing Illuminati conspiracies about the G.U.Y. video  :toofunny:
No, but seriously... This b**** is using too many Iluminati symbols... We get it gurl

Gaga wanted to prove her vocals on ARTPOP, they are better than on any other album of her. I think this time she intentionally went for showing her talent, rather then her antics... i guess CrazyGa will come back some time. We saw a glimpse of it back in the SXSW Swine performance and the genius of the GUY video....

Brooke Candy is interesting, but atm I feel she's more dependent on her visuals. I can't see her become big, she needs it from her antics rather then having fame from genuine raw talent.

Um... well, you probably know Gaga has built most of her legacy being a polarizing and controversial female pop star.

If you want examples, check the 2009 and 2011 VMAs. The meat dress. All of her TFM videos. Monster Ball interludes... It's pretty endless. To me, the ARTPOP era wasn't very interesting because it lacked these kinds of moments. I felt an undescribable feeling of joy after her Swine performance at SXSW.

That's for sure. Also, the meat dress, her GH and HML costumes at BTWB, FAME commercial

I had goosebumps when I watch the Swine performance, it is so intense and dope

I'm 100% agreeing with you. I wasn't really commenting on the diabolical part - that's kind of Brooke's thing... I've listened to Brooke in some interviews, she mostly stands by the same things Gaga stands by, but Gaga is definitely better at conveying her ideas and communicating.

But I'm just blown away by this video. I wasn't really satisfied with the G.U.Y. video - and got some serious backlash for that on this very website - and it's through this kind of videos that I understand why I've been feeling that way.... Gaga used to be as interesting and intriguing as this. Her latest visual works awfully lack substance. In an era supposed to be about ART and POP, it's pretty basic, if you ask me.

Concerning her team, I can't agree more. This is a situation where Gaga is only surrounded by her friends, and this isn't how she'll be challenged both professionally and artistically. If things remain that way, I don't have much hope for her future visual works. And her future in general as an iconic figure.

That's for sure. Also, the meat dress, her GH and HML costumes at BTWB, FAME commercial

Well, we owe the FAME commercial to Steven Klein, the director of Brooke's video.

I've always said Gaga and Klein made the best work together.
