Love, Actually!!!  I knew he looked familiar to me.  Wow, I guess it's really not the years, but the mileage.

Kinda expected after the finale, but ugh :noparty: Was looking forward to seeing it :(

NOTE; It is a link, but a big spoiler, don't open unless you've read the books or want to be spoiled anyways.

Cersei's the way she is because of the horrid upbringing she endured... but no one once gave that any thought. I even saw some people saying they 'didn't give a f*ck' if she got raped because she's a 'b*tch anyway'. It made the scene pointless and horrible. Cersei's hardly a nice person, but I feel no one ever takes the time to try and understand her. She's a wonderfully complex and embittered character who I sympathise for.

People tend to feel sorry for Tyrion due to his upbringing, but I'd say Cersei's was equally as nasty.

Her meanness to baby Tyrion along with the flashbacks in book 4 I think that shows her thinking about killing(or actually killing, I can't remember well now) her best friend as a young girl when she felt she was more beautiful than her and was getting too close to Jaime- all this while she was still young btw, indicates that she already had an evil streak in her as child, so we can't really blame it all on her upbringing.

I'm more talking TV series Cersei, I do agree that Cersei from the books (child and adult) has far, far less redemptive qualities, but I find her a lot more relatable and tragic within the TV adaptation. I tend to keep things like her friends murder in the books as an uncertainty in the series until we see it mentioned.

Her treatment of Tyrion as a child was reprehensible, but I suppose when she's told all the time that Tyrion killed her mother at such an impresionable age, she wouldn't understand really that he wasn't and so thought of him as her literal killer. Hence the penis-pinching and all that.

Oh I'm sorry for not noticing that :flop: We're in agreement 100% then, TV Cersei is certainly a more compelling character than book Cersei, I've pointed out myself too in this thread, though I wonder if she'll start losing a bit of that as she gets desperate when things starts to unravel

and things start to fall apart, which iirc starts to happen right about now in the books

Ah, fair enough! I only enjoy Cersei's silliness in the books, where as I'm a fully fledged Cersei fan in the TV series. She's hugely complex and is played so bloody masterfully by Lena Headey. If that woman doesn't get an Emmy at least once for her portrayal of Cersei, there isn't any justice in the world.

But the Margaery Vs Cersei next season is going to give me so much life, I'm not even prepared for it. I'm so damn excited to see more of those two as they vie for control over Tommen. it will make Brienne Vs. the Hound look like childsplay!

its almost criminal that they won't include her. this is worse than not releasing the DWUW video. on that level. :wtf:

They could be grandmother and granddaughter for real!  Now, that's good casting!  They are/were both so beautiful.
