Since when do we justify lack of recognition for Gaga's work by stating the ratings will be bad?

The VMA's snub is bad, good ratings or bad ratings. If she would get some noms, people would be more than happy so yeah, this is bad. And I don't even think her recent videos are bad, I really don't. She is kinda out of the game video wise. Or maybe the whole 2013 fiasco is still having its impact.
