You and I is her best written song in my book. Followed by Bad Romance, Edge of Glory, Diamond Heart, Speechless, most of Born This Way/Monster, etc.

A duet with Micheal Bolton.  Well, she did backing vocals for it and was a writer of the track. It's an obvious tfm outtake along the lines of "no way" and "second time around".

I think TFM has the best pop songs, hands down. They're so well-crafted and executed perfectly. It improves upon the great material of The Fame but since its shorter it doesn't have any songs with cringey lyrics.

Born This Way has the best singular lines like the bridge to The Queen.

Joanne has, to me, the best overall songwriting. It's just all there and none of the lines take you out of the song by their corniness unlike, say, the bridge on Boys Boys Boys. Even if they aren't your favorite, Joanne is a mark of improved songwriting especially when you keep in mind the timeframe with which she wrote this. Each song sounds pretty unique

I just admire all of the hats and the dresses and the madness and everything because I know that underneath it all she can beat me at writing choruses

100% agree, why does it get so much hate :(

I think some of her best songwriting is from:

Sinners Prayer
Paparazzi
Speechless
Dope (the lyrics are amazing don't deny it)

Speechless, TEOG, MTN, MR and of course BR (pop perfection tbh)

bloody g

Applause verses, ARTPOP (song), the later part of Joanne (Come To Mama, Sinner's Prayer, etc.), Bloody Mary.

Don't lynch me but I think Gaga was inspired the most during ARTPOP

I think you mean the word "well" :poot:

Anyways, imo highlights of her songwriting (lyrics + musically) are definitely Marry The Night (the original key change, PI could never), The Queen, Sexxx Dreams (IMO the most perfect R&B/Pop mash-up anybody has ever created), The Edge of Glory (if you have Bruce Springsteen saying he's jealous of your song, you done did something right), the entirety of Joanne (sans Dancin' in Circles), specifically Million Reasons and her ability to create raw, show-stopping & heartwrenching content with just a basic 4-chord progression and unreleased gems like Second Time Around & Fooled Me Again.
