We also had the first openly lesbian serving mayor. I live in Houston. Montrose is the biggest gay neighborhood in Texas and one of the biggest in the United States. No one is going to boo her. The majority of the United States voted for Clinton. She won the popular vote. The GP community that buys and consumes pop music is overwhelmingly liberal or moderate, not conservative. Literally, unless she does something obscene, no one would really care outside of trump supporters and republicans. Stop being delusional and educate yourself. That according to Billboard, which reported this week that the pop star will not have any guest performers joining her in Houston for the Super Bowl 51 halftime show. This will be just the eighth time an act will perform without accompaniment. She needs all those 12 minutes or so to be all about her, no risk of overshadowing. This will allow her more space to sing her own work. And it will prove to any doubters that she can sing and put on a show as good as/better than any of her peers, completely solo. If she does it right, she could get as much praise as Beyonce. And even Beyonce had guests. The last act to do it solo was The Who in 2010. Rock bands before then did it alone too. So, Gaga will be put in the same category as respected rock acts if she pulls this off alone. Pulling off a first will always guarantee a big headline. The first woman to do a SB show completely solo? Keep getting those first time accolades, Gaga. In this current political climate, a woman stealing the show on her own is the perfect antidote.
