Oldies/rock and roll isn't a bad genre, I enjoy an oldies kick every now and then. I have to imagine that the popularity of indie/indie rock/folk rock in North Carolina is due to the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill), Charlotte, and some of the other more metropolitan areas.
