Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading non-profit organization for advancing the arts and arts education, has announced its annual National Arts Awards honorees and among them is Lady Gaga! Mother Monster will receive the "Young Artist Award" for her work that shows deep commitment to art and demonstrates extraordinary achievement.
According to a press release, the awards honour "individuals who share a common belief in the power of the arts and arts education to enrich individual lives and communities alike." Other honorees include Sophia Loren, Herbie Hancock, Joan and Irwin Jacobs, Alice Walton, and Maria Bell.
In 2013, Lady Gaga released a whole album aiming to bring art culture into the sphere of pop. "I'm still a very young artist, I'm still growing," she said during the promo tour for ARTPOP. "I feel like I don't even know if I will come upon a truly great original moment for ten more years. It is like I have an insatiable need just to try."
The 2015 National Arts Awards will be presented on October 19th at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.
