The wait is over! Warner Bros. have released the first official trailer for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s upcoming movie A Star Is Born.
The movie, which marks Cooper's directorial and Gaga's big screen debut, is based on William Wellman's 1937 film of the same name starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. In the updated version, Gaga plays an aspiring singer Ally, who is finding success with the help of Cooper's character Jackson Maine.
"Gaga's a revelation in this movie," Cooper told the press at CinemaCon last month. "When I approached her for it, she said, 'Well, we're going to sing live.' And I was like, 'Well, you’ll sing live because I don’t sing.' And she said, 'No, no. What I can't stand in the movies is when you see that it's playback and they’re lip-syncing to it. No, we’re going to sing live.' And deep down, I sort of knew we were going to have to do that, and luckily, I had time and I had wonderful support."
In addition to starring in A Star Is Born, Lady Gaga also wrote and performed original music for the film’s soundtrack. One of the songs was co-written with the legendary Diane Warren, who is responsible for such classics as responsible for such iconic hits as Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me," Toni Braxton's "Un-break My Heart," Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time," as well as Gaga’s own “Til It Happens To You.”
A Star Is Born is due out in theatres on October 5th, 2018.
