Well she will inevitably break Adele's record with one of her albums so not surprising to me. The key difference is, when Adele released 25, everyone and their mother rushed to buy a personal copy, and maybe one for the car. People gifted the album to eachother at Christmas because they thought the receiver likes Adele just as much as they do. That's an artist that really touched the regular person. Like Céline did before her. Like Whitney with Bodyguard. Taylor releases same bland songs with 55 variants in 120 formats and her fanbase makes sure to get all of them because they think it's their personality. Art and music can be commercial, but Taylor is just the soundtrack to late capitalism. I will continue to be disgruntled, and she'll continue to sell millions every week.77 points

Im sorry but Charli’s SAIK is such a deep song, talking about how a bigger artist made her feel insecure, cause she could never be her. It’s something we’ve all felt at one point in our lives. I wouldn’t even consider it a diss. Just a song, where she opened up and sang about her honest feelings. meanwhile t**lor… what are those petty kindergarten lyrics pls64 points

This is why her music has become more and more sh*t, because she’s rewarded for extreme mediocrity and doesn’t have anyone in her camp to tell her no. We’ll prob see her next year with an even more subpar album with a random theme slapped onto it.55 points

Musically speaking, there is no better option to win this year. MAYHEM is a triumph and a pure celebration of so many musical genres. Her best work to date in my opinion.51 points

Who Will Win? Lady Gaga, Mayhem Gaga scored three consecutive Album of the Year nominations beginning in 2010 with The Fame, followed up by The Fame Monster the next year, and Born This Way in 2012. But more than a decade later, she has experience on her side now, not to mention a stunner of an LP in Mayhem. “Lady Gaga always feels like a strong contender for this category,” says John Stein, head of North America Editorial at Spotify. “And [her being a] household name helps here.” Mayhem may actually benefit from the competition too, Stein says: “I think it might win based on vote splitting.” Link for the full article here: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/grammys-2026-album-of-the-year-predictions-nominees-1235441589/ The last time Rolling Stone got the right prediction was for Folklore, 2021.50 points

The Mayhem Ball kicked off its European leg yesterday with the first of four shows in London, and it has received an universal critical acclaim The Guardian- ★★★★★ "Lady Gaga’s eighth world tour, The Mayhem Ball, does not lack ambition" The Telegraph - ★★★★★ "And there’s always something eye-popping to look at, the entire show having apparently been devised by people who thought the real issue with Gaga’s performances to date is that they were insufficiently camp and OTT" The Times - ★★★★★ "Lady Gaga at the O2 in London — a pop diva redefines the arena gig. The most flamboyant star of modern times kicked off her European tour with a masterclass in camp fantasy" The Independent - ★★★★★ "Pop star’s Mayhem Ball is the concert of the year. No set piece is too elaborate, no framing device too ludicrous, for this show of wall-to-wall bangers that suggests Gaga isn’t ready to give up her pop crown just yet" Evening Standard - ★★★★★ "There are pop stars, there are music artists, and then there are the true auteurs. Lady Gaga is the latter. Put your paws up for the stadium show of the century. If we could give this show six stars we would" Metro - ★★★★★ "Lady Gaga is this generation’s Madonna – the Mayhem Tour proves it. Despite the spectacle, at every single step of the dramatic production, Gaga was letting us know her microphone was switched on. Her vocals were unwavering." Attitude - ★★★★★ "There’s probably no entertainer out there as committed. Vocally, she’s an underrated powerhouse: it was a treat to hear her take on Bruno Mars’s parts on the all-conquering ‘Die with a Smile’, now the third bestselling song of all time, and it was only released last year, and her ever-so-slightly recasted ‘Shallow’, featuring a softer, gentler vocal, which saw her gliding through dry ice on a rowboat: very Phantom of the Opera." The i Paper - ★★★★★ "On the opening night in London, Gaga's Mayhem Ball - a gothic, operatic pop-theatre extravaganza - was proof she's a pop revolutionary. It’s impossible at moments like these to forget that Lady Gaga is one of the greats, a pop revolutionary. The Mayhem Ball is utterly magnificent." Well hello let's celebrate that47 points

i really admire how she fully commits to doing a true world tour and to visit the markets where she knows she has fans and is appreciated. The tour has been a relative success despite the commercial underperformance of her album, and it's because she didn't give up on this era. Gotta hand it to her, girlie works hard42 points

full lyrics: I heard you call me "Boring Barbie" when the coke's got you brave High-fived my ex and then you said you're glad he ghosted me Wrote me a song saying it makes you sick to see my face Some people might be offended But it's actually sweet All the time you've spent on me It's honestly wild All the effort you've put in It's actually romantic I really got to hand it to you No man has ever loved me like you do Hadn't thought of you in a long time But you keep sending me funny valentines And I know you think it comes off vicious But it's precious, adorable Like a toy chihuahua barking at me from a tiny purse That's how much it hurts How many times has your boyfriend said, "Why are we always talking about her?" It's actually sweet All the time you've spent on me It's honestly wild All the effort you've put in It's actually romantic I really got to hand it to you No man has ever loved me like you do You think I'm tacky, baby Stop talking dirty to me It sounded nasty but it feels like you're flirting with me I mind my business, God's my witness that I don't provoke it It's kind of making me wet Cause it's actually sweet All the time you've spent on me It's honestly lovely All the effort you've put in it's actually romantic Really got to hand it to you, to you No man has ever loved me like you do It's actually romantic You've just given me so much.. attention It's actually romantic It's so romantic37 points

I don't understand why people say that Abracadabra is the only song that harkens back to her "signature style". To me, every song sounds like classic Gaga, even the less popular ones like Don't Call Tonight. Gaga is a multi faceted artist and she's at home in a plethora of genres. I dont get why people try to place her in a synthpop shaped box when she's done so much more from the very beginning of her career ALSO If the whole thing was dark industrial electronic pop, y'all would have complained that it's repetitive. We have 3 disco funk songs (Zombieboy, TDD and Kill for Love) and that's too much for some people. The first 4-5 songs stand out because there is contrast on the album.37 points

Yes it’s as real as her lyrically genius lyrics “We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist, I scratch your head, you fall asleep like a tattooed golden retriever.”36 points

The song is so good but like why can't all the world know about it It deserves to be a single I want to drive home and my favorite song plays on the radio and to scream so loud cause i'm all alone I listen to it and like "WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" And it's like there's nobody to speak to, it's a tone deaf, like my wall is more eager to listen36 points

There are decades of arguments and disputes regarding this matter, so I won't copy paste the Wikipedia article about it here. But Cleopatra was likely of Mediterranean descent, Macedonian Greek to be precise. Honestly, Gaga really might be the best and most appropriate Hollywood contender for the role. Also... iconic nose, hello.36 points
