  1. Almost 2 years later, still a massive song. Congratulations to Mayhem’s #1 lead single that is the biggest song of the 2020s

  2. I mean, those song and album chart stats answer your question. The One That Got Away came out in 2012 Legendary Lovers came out in 2013 Harleys in Hawaii came out in 2019. The only songs of hers that pull good numbers are throwback hits. Her last new release to achieve a BB100 spot was Woman's World at #63 - 2 years ago. Her 3 out of 5 singles since then have only made it to Bubbling Under, 2 didn't even make that. She's not had a Top 10 hit since Chained to the Rhythm in 2017. Her last #1 was in 2013. By definition, she's a throwback/legacy act who's maintained success relies on historical releases.

  10. her music carries the sensation of being the only person in the world grappling with huge emotions, as life often feels in adolescence. For anyone older, her music can feel a little starter pack. This. Like that sums up so much of pop girl music atm.

  20. Ryan Murphy has totally diluted his reputation with so many mid shows and good shows that derailed well before they finished. It’s so hard to get excited by anything he does now because it’s always sleek set up, immediately disintegrating into disappointment. But if this is like Gossip Girl but Chuck Bass is actually openly a psychotic serial killer, I am sort of interested.

  24. There’s even an entire debate in art and history as to whether the writer was a real person same for the Illiad, because Historians have found there’s no evidence of “Homer” and there’s even debates about whether it was based on random made up sonnets during improvised concerts because there’s no evidence of it being a long form “story” as such. No written recordings of long form writing just pages of poetry and sonnets which were translated and compiled. Plus there’s the only evidence of The Trojan War in the Iliad and the Odyssey, it was likely not a real thing but based around a war in the Bronze Age.

  26. Seriously, thanks to CII, many young LM here discovered Madonna. My husband shared with me a reel he saw on about the Lovedrug - Danceteria - Into the Groove similarities from Paws Down social.. and that's it basically.. Look, there are hardcore fans that will always be bitter about Gaga, and will say "queen queen queen", they are irrelevant, most of Madonna fans are Lady Gaga fans and vice versa..

  28. Normally if they’re direct pulls from the software and are named after the track and labelled loops; it’s a progression they made and looped it. Usually if it’s a pre-existing loop they keep the pack or loop name like how the Judas ones have the name after the sample pack.

  31. Hey everyone! I recently started uploading some of my production work under SYVYN SOUND and wanted to share two of my newest beats. The first is inspired by the darker electronic and industrial-pop sound of Abracadabra and the MAYHEM era. I tried to capture that aggressive club energy without directly copying the song. I also made a more organic and experimental track inspired by Björk and Eartheater, with a softer, stranger, more atmospheric sound, if you're into that. I’m still building the channel, so I’d really appreciate any feedback. Hope you enjoy them! Also, feel free to give my Instagram a follow!

  33. Don’t presume that people aren’t aware. The Odyssey has no historical basis, it is pure fantasy. Also it’s so funny that you say it’s whitewashed given the whole Lupita controversy. Like, people wanna cancel things for no reason, it seems.

  35. I mean, art should be understandable and appreciatable regardless of demographic. Like, older reviewers had no issue with P!nk's Mizundastood album & tracks like Family Portrait/Don't Let Me Get Me in 2001/2. And that is a very similar album topically to Gracie. The issue is presentation by the artist imo. Like no one says Mizundastood was starter pack despite focusing on the same themes and feelings. Truly the difference is one is an artist who struggled to get where they are and had something to say. The other is a nepo baby. Like I'm looking at the available lyrics from the new album and so far half are "I don't like partying with rich people" and the other half is "my boyfriend dumped me". Its the same issue I have with Olivia Rodrigo. It's 3 albums of "my love life is **** still". Like there's all this emotional turmoil and its ultimately just cookie cutter "dating sucks" stuff. And its framed as this massive odyssian struggle.

  40. I don’t contribute to stan twitter but I scroll for entertainment. One thing I’ve noticed is LM’s have made enemy’s with so many fandoms it’s hilarious. The Madonna fans, katycats, shakira fans, beyhive, Tate McRae fans, even arianators etc all despise LMs Confessions II has led to a huge spike in Gaga hate, as the OP has pointed out. The only fandoms I see being positive about Gaga are Billie eilish fans. Despite DWAS overtaking BOAF soon, they’re framing it as ‘oh slay interscope girlies stick together’. I’d also say most Miley fans on twitter like LMs, as they tend to be LM-adjacent, and swifties.
