Basically, Pokerface very well could be Sweet Dreams by The Eurythmics inverted in a Baroque style. Basically, melodies can be inverted so that they can essentially have all of the same interval changes, but in the opposite direction. Bach was considered to be one of the top composers for this. When both the Pokerface intro synth melody and the Sweet Dreams melodies are played at the same time, the counterpoint of each fit perfectly and never go off key at any moment. I really don't think that this could be a coincidence. We know that Lady Gaga herself said how she heard chords from classical music and saw them in modern pop songs and used that to develop chord progressions and melodies (there's an interview where she said this, but it's gonna take a bit fir me to find it). I feel like knowing her this could be intentional, and not a reach.

Unpopular opinion time: Gaga vs Madonna comparison, but hear me out lol Confessions II has been on repeat and it made me realize something about Gaga, especially with Chromatica. She’s constantly reinventing her sound... but never her song structure. I don’t know if this is because of the way her label wants to her to be or it’s intentional. Gaga and Madonna are both pop queenz obviously! But I wished Gaga would be a lit less pop like Madonna It’s still Verse > Pre >Chorus >Verse >Pre >Chorus >Bridge > Chorus. 90% of the time. Confessions II made me remember how different Madonna + Stuart Price do dance music. It’s not about rushing to the hook. It’s about the groove. Songs evolve, breathe, and feel like proper house tracks, not pop songs with house beats. Gaga can already write the biggest choruses in pop. But I’d love to hear her drop that formula for one album and make a real club record. not just in production, but in structure. Madonna lets the genre dictate the song. I think Gaga would be insane at that and I think that’s fair for me to say. Has anyone else noticed this too? Is Gaga’s structure getting too predictable? Killah has an insane outro and so does SFA. But I wished we had more I just feel like a lot of people didn’t vibe with Chromatica because of this.. The Free Woman demo was built different too. Has this happened to you? I can't get into any other albums since MAYHEM dropped. I wouldn’t say it was on repeat in the first few months, I just used to listen to some tracks regularly, but after a year, I’m surprised to find myself listening to the whole album all the time! No other albums can satisfy my appetite, and the Apple Live version is such a chef’s kiss! MAYHEM IS REALLY THAT ALBUM!

The teaser ends with two release dates: "The song + video SEPTEMBER 4th" "The Acoustic Collection OCTOBER 9th" SEPTEMBER 4th The 'Vanish Into You (acoustic)' music video drops. It's a compilation of the full MAYHEM Ball Tour (almost like a trailer, one could say). It puts a lot of emphasis on fan interaction as well. The video ends with ANOTHER new release date: "The MAYHEM Ball Tour film SEPTEMBER 25th" SEPTEMBER 25th The MAYHEM Ball Tour film drops on streaming, with a twist: in honor of the live experience, viewers get one randomised piano song, consisting of TEOG, DITD, MTN and Hair. This could either be based on location (e.g. continent) or viewing time (the song depends on the timeslot when you start watching and it changes every hour). It would not only match the excitement of the live show, but it would also incentivise repeated viewings and online discourse. OCTOBER 9th The Acoustic Collection (title could be something more creative) drops. It is Gaga's version of a greatest hits album and ties in with her acoustic songs during The MAYHEM Ball tour. I just watched the HBO Monster Ball recording and thought to myself, I wonder how many other weirdos ever come back to old recordings? Truthfully, I only do every once in a while. But also, what a travesty that the interludes got cut in the HBO special; I still have wet dreams thinking about the countdown into Finally x DITD. And also, rewatching this tour made me realize just how absolutely incredible the MAYHEM Ball was. Truly her best tour.

I will say that I get what you’re saying regarding letting songs “breathe.” Madonna has always been good at sinking into the groove - Justify My Love is a good example. Im not sure this is in Gaga’s wheelhouse. She’s just too bombastic and on-the-nose with her approach to vocal performance to sit back and relax into a song. I think this is part of the reason Sexxx Dreams just didn’t hit on record. I think Madonna would have lost herself in a song like that and the production would have been much more premium.

I just can’t get into the hyper manufactured world that is Kpop, it used to be sooooo much better back in the days of like 2NE1 and T-ARA now it just feels like they’re desperately pushing a product and chasing lightning in a bottle for as much money and attention as possible (not the groups the management, I feel bad for the groups)

I think it’s also down to the fact Madonna lacks the vocal ability that Gaga has, but for a while Gaga felt like she needed to prove she was a great singer so she sort of over sang on records. The original version of Sex Dreams at Swinefest was good BUT it also felt a bit too bare at the same time. Gaga is very much in her own groove on her records now, even allowing more vocal editing and experimentation unlike years ago. I mean the fact she did Requiem with vocal modulation when I know for a fact she would’ve shoved it off back in like 2012 as a restriction of her art shows she’s trying to experiment.

I mean across all metrics/platforms, her numbers are impressive, but too modest to suggest any bot activity. I do think labels pay to increase reach and engagement for songs/posts on social media, to help create viral trends. (The alarm TikTok that said “this sounds like gaga’s abracadabra” got millions of views a day or two before it even premiered during the Grammys to get hype) Unrelated to Gaga but katy perry’s team definitely used YouTube bots/extreme algorithmic push back in 2017. All her videos (old and new) were getting like 400-700million views that year, then suddenly the next year they all dropped off again. Bon appetit (the flop single) also randomly got like 10 million views one day in like 2019 out the blue for no reason

Although Kpop deserves its own fair share of criticism, these threads are such a breeding ground for racism. Every time Teletubby makes these threads, it’s like inviting people to just **** on other cultures. There are things that we criticize, and there are things that have nothing to do with it. But because it’s a different culture that doesn’t exactly fit the white masculinity ideal, it’s automatically 💩. I’m not saying don’t make these threads, but some people need to tone it down a bit.
