Hi, Black teacher here. I get that discipline disproportionately affects students of color, but that mainly comes from admin, not the teacher. Also, kids go to school to learn, right? So a part of what they learn is self-regulation. Good teachers are able to redirect misguided behaviors without causing emotional trauma. I would say that 9/10 teachers are able to teach without traumatizing their students. Obviously there are going to be bad teachers but that's definitely the exception and not the rule. This whole discourses sucks, especially today when teachers are getting 💩 on from all sides. Having celebrities (however irrelevant) speak out about how teachers deserve less or are misguided doesn't help us at all. Especially when we're literally under attack from the current administration.

I never actually watched Dancing With The Stars, but I vividly remember seeing this October 2012 performance online. The routine was performed by only the show’s professional dancers, none of that season’s featured celebrities. They meant business & put in some GAGA-level effort; the choreo, the dresses, the wigs, the lights, the dangling from the ceiling w chairs... Someone from the show clearly fell in love with Heavy Metal Lover when they heard it on the album & recognized that it was something special.

exactly lol also this is one of the reasons I am never able to view her as a true artist. Real artists and musicians are constantly trying to improve themselves and learn, basically they are always a student. Taylor clearly just cares about growing in terms of numbers and charts.

I never know what the line is with/how people react to this sort of stuff. Because Sam Smith does it (who's actually queer and non-binary), and people dog them for it. Then Harry Styles does it, who is as far as know, a cisgender straight man, and then he gets dogged for it. But Benson does it, and it's like "Well, he's an ally!" and "I'd rather have him queerbait than have him actively hate us." Honestly, I'm at a point where if we can't even get QUEER people to comfortably express themselves in public spaces, the straights can f*ck off. I'm frankly tired of seeing cisgender straight people co-opting queerness and using it to look "cool" and "trendy."

For sure! I'm not personally a Beatles fan really but the tricks they were pulling with analog recording equipment to make the unique sounds they made were literally revolutionary. And they were actually good singers and musicians Matter of fact, it's interesting but Paul McCartney is partially responsible for MJ's Thriller being so successful. They pushed their collab as the lead single to lull the white fans and largely white outlets into a false sense of security only for all those little white kids to pop their Thriller vinyls on the deck, hit play, and be assaulted by some of the funkiest sh*t they'd ever hear As for Michael's stardom, he really hit his stride at the perfect time culturally. Not only could he be the one to harness his star power to shatter racial barriers he hit his peak at a time where media had proliferated the world without being segregated by algorithms like it is today. That kind of stardom will never happen again 'cause that environment was unique and capitalized on by exactly the right star I don't know my original point... Taylor sucks
