  2. Mayhem seems is officially over, and while its always sad to end an era, I have mixed feelings of joy this time, and thats because for the first time in 15 years (since Born This Way Era), I actually feel satisfied with the era and I am ok with it ending it here as it is We got 4 singles, 4 music videos, Several interviews, Tv Performances, Chart Success, 2 major cameos, a huge tour with minimal cancellations etc plus Gaga seemed genuinely happy Every era has had some of the above, but never all of the above in abundance at once, at least not since like 2011. The era slayed, it did not feel short or rushed like they gave up on it after 2 singles and 3 months with best case scenario a 3rd music video that wasnt even a single. I think thats what really ruined my excitement for past album cycles. Promo and era just died so fast. Its like they released a couple singles, did a couple interviews or tv performances and kinda called it a day. Between ARTPOP and Chromatica I always felt unsatisfied at the end. Like we needed at least 1 more single, or a few more promo slots or events. Anything to have era feel more complete and eventful. Everytime it ended I was like "thats it? Oh man another short era they gave up on right away" This time we experienced a long and exciting era with one event after another which we hadnt had in a decade and a half! I hope we get more of the same in the future. This was great

  4. This era has been a long and successful one for her career. I have noticed she has been trying to close the door on this chapter (her own words) and I feel like it is to show a clear cut separation from an upcoming era. Maybe I am delusional but she does not like to mix her eras together and likes to have stark visual differences between her eras and I think this is her saying "Mayhem is done, moving on to something else." Otherwise, promoting that an album is dead seems like the wrong move.

  5. The board of Universal Music Group has rejected an unsolicited $64 billion takeover offer from Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square Capital, the company announced on Friday. The move comes a day after key shareholder Vincent Bollore urged UMG to reject the offer. The “Board of Directors has unanimously determined that the unsolicited and non-binding proposal it received from Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P. on April 7, 2026, is not in the best interests of UMG, its shareholders, artists, songwriters, employees and other stakeholders,” the announcement reads in part. The offer included about $10.9 billion in cash, plus additional stock that pushes the total consideration to about $35 a share. Pershing Square said that UMG’s stock has been undervalued because of uncertainty around the company’s ownership structure and around UMG’s stake in Spotify, and by the company’s delay of its planned stock listing in the U.S. Ackman previously struck an agreement with the company last year to establish a secondary listing in the U.S. in addition to its primary home on the Euronext Amsterdam listing. https://variety.com/2026/music/news/universal-music-group-rejects-bill-ackman-takeover-bid-1236762471/

  6. Ns but I also don’t really get anyone being particularly dissatisfied with the amount of content we got this era lol. We got a great album, a reissue with three bonus tracks, a live reimagining of the album with a coinciding concert film, she headlined Coachella and Copacabana, headlined one of the greatest tours/live shows of her career which will likely be released as a concert film this year, she dropped two of the best vids of her career, she performed way more TV and radio promo spots than is industry standard at this point…thoroughly fed. Could she have done a couple more MVs? Sure. Is the era incomplete w/o them? Definitely not.

  10. This was the first era since BTW that didnt feel short, hollow or rushed/incomplete We got 4 singles, 4 music videos, several interviews, 2 cameos, a huge tour (with minimal cancellations), chart success and most importantly Gaga appearing genuinly happy this time This was fantastic. While I am sad to see era end, I am satiafied with it, and its the first time I say that about an album era in 15 years!

  12. The move by the Kennedy Center‘s board of trustees to add President Donald Trump‘s name to the D.C. cultural institution was illegal, a federal judge ruled Friday. U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper ordered Kennedy Center officials to remove Trump’s name from the building within two weeks, ruling on a lawsuit filed by U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio). The judge also granted Beatty’s request for a preliminary injunction to block Trump — for now — from taking any further steps toward closing the institution. Trump earlier this year had said the Kennedy Center would shut down for two years starting July 4, 2026, to undergo a “complete rebuilding.” Because Trump and the Kennedy Center board are “currently in violation of Congress’s express statutory direction, the Court will order that they remove President Trump’s name from the institution’s title, as represented on the façade of the Center, any other physical or digital signage, and official materials,” the judge said in the ruling. Regarding the ruling that halts Trump’s planned renovation of the Kennedy Center, Daravi said, “We will review the decision carefully though the reality remains — the Center requires an urgent and significant restoration – a truth that even the plaintiff acknowledges. With $257 million secured by President Trump and approved by Congress, the resources are in place and we remain committed to pursuing every lawful avenue to ensure the Trump Kennedy Center is restored as a national cultural landmark for all Americans to enjoy.” Legal experts have previously said the renaming of the center is illegal, because a 1964 federal law established its name as “The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts” in honor of the slain president and explicitly prohibits the board of trustees from adding any other name to the building. In December, Beatty sued Trump and the Kennedy Center’s board seeking to force the removal of Trump’s name from the organization. Beatty said in a statement, “Today’s ruling rightly affirms that this administration’s efforts to rename and close the Center have no basis in law. The Kennedy Center is an institution that belongs to the American people, not to Donald Trump. He has desecrated this sacred memorial for his own vanity. I am proud to have fought for the rule of law and to protect this sacred institution.” “We applaud the court’s decision to block Trump’s attempt to unlawfully rename and close the Kennedy Center,” said Norm Eisen, co-founder and board member of Democracy Defenders Action, and Nathaniel Zelinsky, senior counsel at the Washington Litigation Group, who are representing Beatty in the matter. “This ruling sends an important message: the rule of law matters. This is a powerful blow against the Trump administration’s corruption.” In a related ruling Friday on a suit filed by the DC Preservation League against the Kennedy Center’s board, Cooper denied the group’s request for a preliminary injunction to stop additional renovations to the center “because it has not shown a likelihood of success” on the lawsuit’s legal merits. The judge directed the parties “to meet and confer in good faith to discuss appropriate next steps in this proceeding” and requested a joint status report with their proposals within seven days “to elucidate the scope and timing of the Kennedy Center renovation project, as well as any efforts by the Center to engage in regulatory review and permitting, voluntarily or otherwise.” https://variety.com/2026/music/news/judge-orders-kennedy-center-remove-trump-name-illegal-1236762593/ His response:

  19. Imo what Gaga made clear with Mayhem is that we will not get a whole one-genre only Album from her again. Which makes me happy, her strongest work has always been when it wasn't tied to one genre.

  29. Obviously won’t be posting it but you can search for it. Sounds like either a BTW outtake or an early ARTPOP one. I’m also sure she once described Born This Way’s sound as a gas station disco in fact

  30. I think also someone pointed out how ever since The Fame Monster it was only up until MAYHEM where the era officially "closed". Most of the eras after TFM ended abruptly - Born This Way, Joanne, Chromatica.

  31. It's not about her hating being celebrity, it's about the fact that no matter what she does, people will find a negative point, will judge, will shame. The GP, the media, and the fans, especially the fans, love her but love to hate her.. She's the perfect celebrity, not in the sense of being a celebrity, so in all the rich and famous sense, with all the drama and the gossips.. she's perfect in the sense that she does what expected from, like a good soldier, and she does it with perfection, but despite this.. she'll always be the "poker face and meat dress singer" and less good than her peers despite her working and creating better than any other musician out there.

  38. I've always been against circumcision. It's genital mutilation plain and simple, and the fact that it's still practiced in some areas of the world today is unnecessary and ridiculous. And don't anyone dare give me the classic BS that "it's more hygienic"... that was true before they invented something called 'soap' - just wash yourselves you dirty bastards like you do with the rest of your body. The only real reason baby boys are circumcised are either religious or aesthetic reasons (often designed to suppress male pleasure), and neither justify it. We're born with foreskin for a reason. It protects the helmet (an incredibly sensitive, delicate part of anatomy) and keeps it lubricated, just the same as the labia on women. There's also thousands of pleasure seniors and nerve endings in the foreskin and around it as mentioned in this article - (I can literally get myself off by merely playing with mine). You're depriving men from experiencing max sensation by removing it. And for those who argue "well we don't rly need it".. well that's just not true, and if it were true then so what? Men don't really need nipples but we don't go chopping them off babies do we? Also a shocking amount of infants suffer terrible damages, infections, disfigurements, and sometimes death from botched circumcisions or complications with the procedure! The only moral and necessary reason for a man to get circumcised is if he suffers from Phimosis (tight foreskin), which can cause problems and pain. There's also a huge issue with consent that no one seems to even think about. Cultural circumcision is genuinely done when you're a baby. You have no say in it. And honestly that's kinda sick. If circumcision is to remain fashionable for whatever ridiculous, twisted reason, then at least allow people to chose whether they want the procedure done when they've reached adulthood and actually have autonomy on their own bodies.
