Growing up, I was always under the impression that Madonna had a longstanding history playing guitar and that she was a skilled guitar player, until I recently stumbled upon this video from 2000. In the video, she says it’s her first time playing guitar publicly (in spite of claiming to have played regularly during the 70s and 80s) and she clearly struggles and needs to be doubled by a back up player for a fairly simple arrangement. In another video of Madonna playing “Mother and Father,” she appears to be barely making contact with the strings and I began to wonder, why does this feel so familiar? Then I remembered… And I couldn’t help but wonder: is this YET ANOTHER way in which Lady Reductive has stolen from the Queen of Pop? What do you think? Who pretended to play guitar better? Discuss!

Yeah, I was gonna comment something about the period of Soviet occupation, Israel stealing Russian weapons and selling them to the CIA, the CIA turning around and giving those same weapons to rebel groups to basically bleed Russia ('cause weeee it was the cold war), that leading to the Afghan civil war, and then the rise of the Taliban as a result of all of that. I mean, that was largely an urban thing and rural areas were backwards, deeply religious, and stupid (just like the good ol' US-of-A) but still. Love your appreciation towards TEOG and how great the song is but hun I think you missed the point why exactly she released BTW (album) and the title song itself during the time. It was to send a message for the equality that she stands for and LGTBQ+ that she supported. Thats the whole point why the album exist. If other tracks mentioned was chosen as lead single instead, thats kinda feel contradicted on what she wanted to express and deliver to the community and public

I also just don’t care about a Kabbalah renaissance themed album. Spirituality is so low on the list of themes I enjoy in music, and there are plenty of times that Gaga gets too close to it for my liking. So an entire album whose themes revolve around it just does nothing for me. It feels very “Live, Laugh, Love,” and I’m more of a “Die, Cry, Hate” person.
