  4. The entire female team refused to show up. The fact that these people DID show up and they wore his merch means they at least tolerate him which is immediately grounds for condemnation.

  9. I have some feelings about Mayhem that are not popular, full disclosure. But, ironically, I feel like these could have been soothed a bit if she had, (or maybe still can) push one more Mayhem single. (I'll get to that later. ) It's not my favorite album, but I think not giving it more singles is a genuine mistake. Even if they don't chart top ten everytime, I think with this era the songs would have had slow-burn success. I think promoting Vanish Into You in the Spring after Abracadabra had been out a few months could have been a moderate-fairly large summer hit for her that could have grown in the long run as a re-performable hit for her. I think if not that, How Bad Do U Want Me would have made sense for a summer sleeper hit, especially if she somehow could have pulled in Taylor to feature on it as a surprise re-release. And I also think even Zombieboy during September/October before Halloween would have made a huge viral impact had she pulled something at VMAs like she did at the Grammys, with a surprise single release. All of these strategies could have worked. But like....look what we got. The Dead Dance. I feel like this is what we go through as fans often with her team- an exceptional world being built and then the buildings in the world sitting half-empty...not because the demand isn't there...but because the proper promotional channels weren't explored. Gaga IS a visual artist, despite the popularity of the music video, it is who she is. And even the newer pop stars are still releasing videos so the narrative that the music video is dead is a bit of an exxageration there. There 100% is a demand for visuals. And the idea that it looks desperate and cheap- who cares? It should be about art. If you're really an artist. People pick up on vibes more than ever and it came off to me that she didn't believe in her own hype and this is something Michael Jackson or Madonna never fell for. At the end of the day, all commercialness aside- they had a vision- they artistically executed it- and they finished it. Everytime. They didn't bail out mid-era (like everyone does nowadays) because something didn't work out commercially. To me it ironically cheapens the brand of an artist when they do this. One last note....I will say I do believe there is still one secret gold mine left on this album/era that most would doubt me on but I think they are wrong and I think it would work: LoveDrug Summer. Think about it. It's a very very very good polished track. It's her "Style". It's her "Love on the Brain". It's her "Criminal". It's a late era song that screams relatable, catchy, ear-itchy gold.

  11. Britney Spears was arrested for a DUI on Wednesday night in Ventura County, Calif., Variety has confirmed. The singer was handcuffed by the California Highway Patrol around 9:30 p.m. and booked early Thursday morning around 3 a.m. She has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.

  14. What a stupid fûcking bítch. Like 80% of her fanbase consists of gay men. But of course a handful of those fággots won’t care, so, in the end, maybe she’s not so stupid after all

  15. Why isn’t she getting the proper care she needs? The conservatorship clearly f*cked her up and you can tell she’s lost her sense of self. I truly hope she gets the *right* help she needs so she can at the very least live her life in peace instead of anguish.

  19. The MAYHEM era has been absolutely incredible! It's a VISUAL feast already. The tour and Copacabana alone was everything and more. This whole ART OF PERSONAL CHAOS show was like 14 gothic mvs on broadway. Traditional singles aren't what they used to be. Some fans need to realise that tbh. I do feel had "Disease" performed better, the label may switched things around. However they were clearly satisfied with "Abracadabra" and "DWAS" doing the heavy lifting overall. Anyways let's prepare for GOE to smash on tiktok in 2027.

  25. Hot take but sometimes not wanting to see a naked horny grandma is just that simple and doesn't go all that deep as bigotry. You don't hate women or old people just 'cause you don't expect a 70 year old to act like this. It doesn't have to be "total acceptance or you're a bigot". Sometimes you can just side-eye something that's weird and go about your day. Anyway, I still can't stand Madonna. She's never been good to any of my faves and I don't think she's a good person. Let's not forget that if any man did some of the things she's done to fellow celebrities, he'd be labelled a predator. If she were to approach this concept with tact and the intention of showing that sexuality can both exist and still be alluring and beautiful even at an older age then I'd at least appreciate the idea but I expect whatever she does is gonna be a tacky stunt for attention where she embarrasses herself and quietly moves on to the next project. The fact that it's being advertised as "raunchy", which is not a positive thing, lowkey tells me I'm right. She doesn't wanna push the boundaries, she just wants to be edgy and catch a headline for it and that's cringe

  32. I’m glad you underlined the portions that I disagree with because thinking this either shows, at best, a misunderstanding of the album/era as a whole, or at worst, intentionally disingenuous with the art she created. No tea or shade (maybe a little ) The album opens with Gaga confronting her demons, invoking her heightened self, returning back to the sounds that inspired her earliest work, her inspirations, and reflections on the inner and outer adversity she’s faced since 2016, ending on a note of love which hasn’t happened since 2013. This journey is expressed through the gothic imagery she uses across each track in the record. This is further emphasized with the tour narrative, the dueling Gagas, and the reconciliation between Mistress Mayhem and Ethereal Gaga. Not connecting to or even liking the record is fine, but to say that there’s no artistic vision or thematic substance doesn’t hold up when examining the actual content of the record.

  36. This is from The Sun news paper in the UK. I won't link it, they don't deserve the clicks. Over the next two days, the 67-year-old singer will be filming her most X-rated music video to date, as she gears up to release her new album, dubbed Confessions Part 2. Last night, a 200-strong team descended on a top-secret location in the UK to start work on the adventurous video, which will accompany her lead single later this summer. “Madonna never wants to be pigeonholed and although she’s three years off turning 70, she wants the public to know she is still the ultimate pop sex symbol.” This video is the first of a new campaign, which comes off the back of her signing a massive deal with Warner Records — the label she launched her career with — last year. The mum of six has turned to director Torso, the mastermind behind Charli XCX’s 2024 video for Von Dutch, to oversee the shoot and has brought on board her choreographer Damien Jalet, who worked on her Madame X shows in 2019 and Celebration Tour two years ago. “She wants to use this video to prove that she is still a pioneer when it comes to her artistry." The article also includes this quote from an insider about the new album: “Stuart was credited with helping Madonna return to form with their Confessions album and it’s the same this time around. “The music they’ve created for this new album isn’t what fans might be expecting. So much of the record is steeped in reflections of what Madonna has been through over the past few years, including losing her brother and almost dying. “This record is still packed full of hits, but it’s not the upbeat pop fans might have been expecting." Per the article the single is due in the coming months with the album dropping this summer.

  39. To each their own but the world she portrayed in Chromatica at its debut was MUCH different from what we got in the tour... and arguably we never got squat in terms of the actual world of Chromatica. The music videos gave some hype but that was it. While the MAYHEM album was so all over the place (hence it's title lol), it was almost impossible to think of visuals until the tour which has been her best yet. But seeing how she brought the album to life on tour, I at least can look back and see how it connects to the entire album given that we essentially are going to the theater/opera to see a show, and she delivers a show that goes all over the place while also telling a story... something Gaga is amazing at

  40. I feel like this is just a long-winded way of saying you don't like The Dead Dance. I think you're putting too much emphasis on the music videos when you really should be looking at the live performances. It's clear that Gaga really wanted to hone and refine the live performance aspect of this era, which was something she hadn't really done since BTW/ARTPOP. You wanna talk about visuals, but forget that the MAYHEM Ball/Coachella/Copacabana has some of the best visuals of her career—and yes, I truly believe that. She didn't "give up" or "bail out" on MAYHEM. You checked out when she didn't do the promotional strategy that you wanted.

  41. Promo budgets don't get cut mid album cycle. This budget has been set years in advance contractually, and if anything got a bump w an addendum to the contract before it's release. Largely agree, but you're downplaying the key role she played in music video as a medium in the mid/late 2000s. She's widely credited for bringing theatrics, narrative driven storytelling, and choreography back to music videos at the time and was also a driving force behind the popularization of YouTube. So to imply her MVs were luck or anything of the sort is a mischaracterization. This. Visual storytelling has been at the core of the entire album and she's sprinkled things here and there for well over a year. Disease, Abracadabra, and the Dead Dance all got MVs. She released Dead Dance and the bonus tracks on streaming in the summer. Disease got two ballad mixes with live video during it's single run. Abracadabra had a Behind the Scenes video, rehearsal video, and fan video. She did a SNL slot that's available online as well as several festivals. She has a 70+ date tour that she's somehow found the time between to film the Dead Dance video as well as fly to LA for a Grammys performance. She did a Super Bowl performance as well in that time. She did Coachella before the tour. 99 posts on Instagram since the start of the era and 90% of them are her promoting the album or some aspect of the era. But somehow she gave up because she didn't release HBDYWM as a single for the Swifties. Even if you approached the tour as a 9-5 job, she would have worked 14 weeks of Mon-Friday over the past year. Then you consider that she spends a month or two on even rehearsing the tour, two weeks to put it together, 5 days per mv from conceptualization to shoot plus 2 weeks of rehearsal, and you're at 31 weeks. That's still not counting time for the festivals, any promo between, tv appearances and awards shows, key art shoots, her still promoting Harlequin at the time, her recording other music, and the fact she has a business she's involved in. She didn't give up, she's just busy. Smaller and indie artists are doing what they can to get their foot in the door. Gaga was the same at the beginning of her career. And she also was regularly in debt to her label during that time. Funnily enough, Gaga was nowhere close to a billionaire up until she stopped peddling music videos and other intricate costly projects to fans that won't ever be grateful for them anyways.
