Bruce Springsteen just released a song written this week-end to speak out against ICE and honnour Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Kinda nice to see a HUGE masc american figure like him speak up. The comments under his post on FB are full of MAGA crybabies asking him not to bring politic to the table. I'm living!27 points

According to Deuxmoi, Gaga and Beyoncé were asked to play Thelma and Louise in a reboot directed by Jane Campion ("The Pianist"). Apparently Gaga accepted it, but Beyoncé declined the offer, so they're looking for a partner for Gaga.18 points

I haven't heard about this one. It's all over my instagram today lol the hive is pressed for some reason... maybe because Beyoncé can't act (III). I'm so tired of reboots and sequels no one asked for. I need Gaga to do an original non-musical part for a smaller studio with a character that isn't the love interest to a male protagonist who dies.17 points

If they truly care about theft they should pay the artists more than fractions of a cent per stream13 points

I think she's a multimillionaire, so we shouldn't act surprised when her actions don't exactly align with our own economic class because surprise! her class interests are not the same as ours. She will never truly have our best interests at heart because she simply doesn't live the same life we do, nor does she share our preoccupations or obstacles. This is partly what explains her silence toward current political issues too. That being said, maybe we're reading too much into what amounts to a sponsorship for a cute song13 points

Imagine if when she said "I've been spending a lot of time in the studio on tour" it was for this12 points

Thoughts? The thought is a deep void that our queen is silent on ice and a genocide. The reason being her career was built on speaking up and voicing an opinion and making songs about injustice CUE angel down Her and Michael are a brand now, I had no idea about the real estate news… its all just too much. Not much more to say but yeah a void and disappointment. Glenn Close and Meryl aren't afraid to speak up neither are simple people like Katy perry... So that says something. She's not thinking about her fans here terrified, the trans community, people on green cards, undocumented. We need her more now than ever!11 points

I don't understand how this is any different than her flogging overpriced earphones or pointed creative director of a photography company to promote 3 different products (that never happened) what's with the "old gaga is gone"? she was also happily taking checks for product endorsements back then... she's a pop superstar, it's part of the job, this thread is so baffling "Mastercard was ok cus it funded her art" they all fund her art in a way, we just got a new random cover out of this10 points

If you had enough of Gaga and her choices, you can always request to delete your account, I'll happily click the approve button But if you're still here, still buying her music, just stfu already.10 points

Nicki Minaj is pledging hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund new $1,000 tax-advantaged investment accounts for her fans’ newborns, as part of a program the Trump administration is launching this year. Minaj will join President Trump, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and others for a Trump Accounts summit on Wednesday touting the program’s tax-deferred retirement accounts for children. Dr. Luke collaborator’s contributions could mean investments between $150,000 and $300,000 to her fans to help set up baby “Barbz” accounts, though the final number is in flux, sources said. She’s expected to make the announcement alongside Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz, who’s developed a close relationship with Minaj as the administration’s “celebrity whisperer.” “I absolutely love my Barbz,” Minaj, 43, told The Post in a statement, referencing her fanbase. “I want to see them bring healthy, and successful children into the world. Becoming a mother was the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, and I want others to experience the same joy my son has brought into my life.” “I know raising a child can be expensive and challenging at times, so I’m committed to doing whatever I can to support them,” added Minaj, who has a son, 5. Onika’s net worth now reportedly tops $190.5 million — and she hopes that her contributions to the Trump administration’s program will go a long way in increasing the next generation’s financial literacy. https://nypost.com/2026/01/28/us-news/nicki-minaj-donates-cash-for-trump-accounts-for-barbz-babies/8 points

I predict that she will perform a cover for a song, maybe the one from the ad, for the ICE victims, the members here will complain that she once again missed an opportunity to promote the album. you know, the usual8 points

Id rather they make a new Guys & Dolls movie and let her be Adelaide since that was her dream role originally if she ever became a theatre actor. Also this massively makes me question this person’s credibility because not only has this rumour been going for almost a decade. But it stems from the fact people like them in Telephone together and that’s it.8 points

I mean, they ask us to pay $13 a month for music, then they overpriced the concert tickets, because streaming is not paying, then they released multiple variants, then they sell cheap ass overpriced merch. And for what? because these artists still believe that they need to be rich and live in Malibu? they can still survive with $500k in the bank. It's not us that needs to be changed, we already did, we're not pirating like we used to.. now it's time for the music industry to re-evaluate itself.7 points

This just proves my point all over again: Gaga can do everything right and still won’t get her deserved flowers. She delivered some of the greatest live performances of all time (Coachella, Copacabana, and the Mayhem Ball), pulled a record-breaking 2.5 million people in Brazil, released a critically acclaimed album, gave us the best music video of 2025 (Abracadabra), landed the biggest smash hit of the year (DWAS), killed it on SNL, casually picked up an Emmy and another Grammy (EGO status!), and became the most-nominated female artist this year with 7 Grammy nods. And yet Billboard wants to tell me that Taylor Swift or Bad Bunny (no shade) were the greatest pop stars of the past year? If “greatest” just meant sales, then sure I’d get it. But being a pop star is about so much more than numbers. It’s about what you actually bring to the table. Gaga has everything from powerhouse vocals, songwriting, iconic visuals, elite performance skills, live instrumentation, fashion, and full-on theatrics. She’s a complete artist unlike the artists who will be ranked above her. I'm not even being biased. Gaga deserves that top spot and we all know it.7 points

I'm so tired by fans insisting that Gaga should speak up on every political matter. What does it achieve by her doing so? It sadly won't change anything - and, you know, it's actually more sensible to not stoke certain situations, which A-list celebrities making commentaries can often do. Celebrities endorsing Kamala and Hillary was a part of the reason they lost their respective elections. It's also a slippery slope - Gaga has been a vocal advocate for the queer community, which is very targeted, focused and relevant to her place in the world. Yet, because of that, there's this expectation that she now also has to be a voice for everything and everyone - and if she isn't, it means she doesn't care. No. It means, for a myriad of reasons, she may not wish to insert herself into certain public matters, irrespective of her own views and actions behind the scenes. Anyway, I don't love the capitalist collabs but I also understand that 'LADY GAGA' is a brand and business and there are big bills that need to be paid. At least she's using her talent here and singing about unity.7 points

Bitch (ban me), youre saying "Its powerful to think about what he would say right now," but youre staying absolutely silent about the shitshow (ban me) thats happening in your ****ing (ban me) country right now, and you STILL, you still think that the power of music is going to solve this crisis? Like, **** (ban me), maybe speak out about these atrocities??? How the hell is a forking (please don't ban me) cover of a nostalgic song in a Super Bowl commercial going to be of any effect??? Sorry, Im so mad.7 points

Feeling the need to vent this, but I hope everyone offended by this endorsement has deleted all their social media platforms, and is doing extensive research into every subscription they have, as well as every app, store, etc. they are giving their money to. Or are you holding Gaga to a different standard than you hold yourself? And are you equally hounding your peers in the same way you’re trying to hold Gaga accountable? Some of y’all want to sound righteous more than you want to be righteous yourself. Point fingers at yourselves before you do it to others. Let’s have some grace. Gaga may be flawed but damn has she worked HARD to be a beacon of love and inspiration and unity for a lot of people regardless of who they are and what they believe in.6 points

Mate, she can't be fighting everybody's battles all the time. She does have her own health to maintain this time around. Do you also think that maybe she herself is quite afraid too amd doesn't know what to say? Her show in Brazil was almost a major target at one point too.5 points

Am I? Have I been critical of some of her decisions? Sure, I think it’s also what a fan forum is for. Not just for yassing and gagging at everything. Now, if the general consensus of my involvement of 15 years with GGD is that I always complain and am always negative, then I’ll gladly stop posting. Honestly, I’m saddened by your post. I would really hope that my contribution to this forum is more than that.5 points

The ad is literally a clear political message that aligns with everything she ever stood for. Especially the core message of her Super Bowl performance. She got a company to pay 8million/30sec to get her message of togetherness, showing compassion and standing together and strong on the screen. Y‘all are so willfully blue eyed with your utopian worldview. Where were you when MasterCard paid for Abracadabra? Oh right, because it was a cunty serve, your morals were on break. Gaga was always extremely careful about when and how she speaks up. Not because she was scared, but because she wanted to do the cause justice and she wanted to use the best moment for the RIGHT impact. And she rarely misses, but for over a decade you guys care more for her to instantly react to anything, as aggressively and radical as possible, instead of letting her chose her message wisely.5 points

I think we just all have to accept that OG Gaga and current Gaga aren't the same woman. Now we can either say she's changed. Or we can go the Avril Lavigne route and blame it on a clone.5 points

To play devils advocate, she’s currently in Japan, which has a more conservative-leaning political stance. It is a possibility she’s not speaking out right now to ensure there is zero risk of harm to her fans. She’s had to cancel concerts in the past due to bomb threats, she wore a bulletproof vest to sing the national anthem at Biden’s inauguration, and the Manchester attack at Ariana’s show is proof that extreme caution is needed at times. We don’t know all that’s happening. People saying ‘was the check worth it’, do we know the stance of this brand? Are they actually right-wing and Trump-funding, or are we generalizing real estate as pure evil? I genuinely don’t know much about this brand enough to immediately label it as a cruel move on Gaga’s part. Regardless, the song is political right now. If she utilized their money to get this message broadcast to millions of people, won’t you be my neighbor, it’s something I can support in a way. It may not be perfect, it’s still beautiful in it’s own way. There’s a lot we don’t know, and it’s more than fair to feel disappointment even still.5 points
